THE NINTENDO REVOLUTION (Fan Fic)

Chapter one

Nintendo had won. The Wii’s incredible success had lead to rise in third-party video game creation. Super Mario was at his home enjoying a mushroom pizza. Link was in Hyrule, herding goats with his faithful horse, Epona. Samus Aran was in space, wondering about her next mission. Fox McCloud was with his faithful Star Fox team, roaming the galaxy.

These and all the Nintendo characters were completely unaware of the dangers they would soon face, the troubles pursuing them in the form – of Sony.

Sony had been destroyed. Losing fans, losing sales, losing the gaming rivalry, about to disappear altogether, like Tiger before it. But Sony was prepared. Out of the blue they had created a diabolical weapon. They had titled it: Project BrainStation.

Slippy: Fox, Fox! Come in Fox, I have enemies on my tail!

Falco: Slippy, can you stay out of danger for one minute?

Krystal: What are those things? They give off a sense of being… dead, yet resurrected! They look like… little grills?

Peppy: Fox, be careful! We don’t know what those things are capable of!

Fox attempts to shoot down one of the strange objects. It lies towards his Arwing, destroying it’s G-Diffuser system.

Fox: Agghh! I’m hit, going down!

Krystal: Nooo!

Fox’s Arwing spins rapidly out of control. He crashes down on the snowy planet of Fortuna.

Fox: Peppy? Peppy, can ya hear me?

Fox’s radio sytem picked up the Great Fox.

Peppy: I’ve got you, Fox! I’m sending you a Landmaster. Use it and head for the weather station, we’ll pick you up there!

Chapter Two

In the Mushroom Kingdom, Bowser was having problems of his own. Oddly shaped flying things had been capturing many Koopas from his army. They have not been seen since.

Bowser: Bring forth the prisoner!

A spiky blue prisoner was brought to Bowser.

Bowser: Sonic? Sonic the Hedgehog? How dare you send these objects after me! How dare you kidnap my soldiers! Release them at once!

Sonic was looking at his feet. When he looked up, he was smiling. His eyes were a deep red.

Sonic: Lord Bowser. I am glad to be able to speak with you. We have things to discuss.

Sonic was speaking in a voice that was not his own. The 15-year-old hedgehog had become a 35-year-old official in a suit.

Bowser: What things? And why are you acting strangely? What’s going on, Sonic? Tell me immediately!

Sonic: My new master has ordered the destruction of your kind. He says you are specks on this world who have gotten over-confident. I must comply. It is the end for you. My new master sends his greetings.

As soon as he was finished speaking, he broke out of his handcuffs and ran at his full speed out of the castle.

Kamek: Don’t worry, Lord Bowser, we – we’ll go after him…

Bowser: No, Kamek, leave him. This looks bad. I need to write a letter.

Bowser was looking uneasy.

Bowser: It’s not my favourite recipient, but it must be done. I need to understand what’s happening.

Kamek: As you wish, Lord Bowser.

Chapter 3

In Green Greens, Kirby was enjoying a walk. He had just had his lunch. He was suprised to see a grill thing floating towards him - the same sort the other characters had previously seen.

Kirby: What are you?

The grill did not respond. Kirby attempted to inhale the object, to gain its powers. It flew repeatedly around in circles. Kirby could not inhale it - it was moving too fast. Kirby carefully threw his hammer at it. The grill was knocked to the ground. Kirby inhaled, and swallowed it.

Kirby: Now, I wonder what powers I'll get... huh?

Kirby had shot into the air. He had no control over his body. The grill shot out of his mouth as a star. It broke free of the star, then flew in the direction of Hyrule. Not entirely understanding the situation, Kirby followed it.

Apologies for the shortness of chapter 3.

Chapter 4

It was not only Nintendo characters that were having these troubles. In Spiral Mountain, Banjo, his best friend Kazooie, his sister Tooty and their friend Bottles were hiding underground in one of Bottles’ holes.

Banjo: D… Do you think they’ve gone, Kazooie?

Kazooie: Oh, get a grip. They’re probably just…

Above them, they heard a huge explosion.

Tooty: What are these weird things doing? Why have they come to Spiral Mountain?

Bottles: Shhhh!

He indicated for them to follow him through the tunnel he was digging. They obliged, and soon popped up outside the waterfall.

Banjo: We can’t stay here. We need to find out what these things are, but we need to get away first!

Kazooie: I can’t fly carrying all of you! I struggle with Banjo as it is!

Tooty: Then we’ll climb over the cliff! Head to Hyrule!

Banjo: We’ll need a new move to do that.

Everybody looked at Bottles expectantly.

Bottles: All right, here we go. First, tap B to…

Cool story, Deku. I like how it shows all the Nintendo characters living in one huge world, with different parts, like the Mushroom Kingdom, Hyrule, and Spiral Mountain. Keep it up! :D

I'm writing the entire thing in Word. Also, I'm writing plans in my schoolbook, so that keeps me ahead. I'll probably scan and upload the plans after the story is finished. Chapter 5 will be up soon - just have to finish the illustration.

Also, don't expect it just to be Nintendo/Rare characters involved :)

Chapter 5

In the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario had just recived a letter.

Mario: Hey, Luigi, take a look at this!

Luigi: Mamamia, it’s from Bowser! What does he want?

Mario: It says here that he is having trouble with small floating grill-like things. Hey, were those the things you saw earlier?

Luigi: Oh yes! I saw them at the Princess’ castle!

Mario: I think we should go and find Link; ask if he’s having any similar problems. Let’s-a-go!

Mario and Luigi ran their usual route through the mushroom kingdom. They then headed for the Hyrule/Mushroom Kingdom border. They did not see any odd objects, but they met their old pal Geno along the way.

Geno: What is it that you want from this place?

Luigi: We’re passing through, Geno!

Geno’s eyes were a deep red. He was speaking strangely.

Mario: Geno, are you all right?

Geno: Geno Whirl.

Geno sent a large blast towards Mario. Mario dodged, and sent a large fireball towards Geno.

Mario: Geno, what are you doing?

Geno: The new master has come. Prepare yourselves.

Geno left the scene. Mario and Luigi continued their journey to Castle Town, puzzled.

Chapter 6

Barring the usual gun crime and robberies, corruption and brutal attacks, there was no terror in Vice City.

No flying grills. No characters acting strangely. No kidnapping. No invasions.

Tommy Vercetti was in front of a large black machine in a warehouse in Little Haiti. The machine was producing grill-like objects. Knuckles the Echidna was suspended inside a tank on the top of the machine.

Tommy: Almost, it is complete!

Tommy presses a button. The tank drains itself, Knuckles is released. His eyes were red.

Knuckles: Hello… master.

Tommy: Knuckles. Go and join your colleagues, Knuckles.

Knuckles; As you wish, master.

Knuckles left, just as Ratchet entered.

Ratchet: Tommy, how goes the plan?

Tommy: Well. Have you got the book?

Ratchet: Here.

Ratchet handed Tommy a large red book.

Tommy: Well, well, well. What’s this? I’ve been waiting for you!

Cheato: Please, don’t hurt me!

Tommy produced a large gun.

Tommy: Now, tell me how to enlarge myself. NOW!

Tommy jabbed Cheato with the gun.

Cheato: All right! All right! Please don’t use that!

Ratchet: Get a move on, you stupid book!

Cheato: Right. Turn on your Gameshark.

Tommy turned on the Gameshark he was holding.

Cheato: Enter new code - F450B634 F274451E…

Chapter 7

Fox had arrived at the weather centre on Fichina. His nose was blue with the cold. He had fixed his Arwing using parts from the Landmaster. He was about to take off and re-board the Great Fox.

Fox: Peppy, I’m on my way up!

Peppy: Roger that. I’m opening the docking station. Ready when you are!

Fox made his way back to the Great Fox. When he was aboard, he received a transmission from a nearby ship.

Fox: Who’s this?

A helmeted person appeared on the screen. The person removed their red helmet to reveal the face of Samus Aran.

Samus: Fox, I’ve been seeing small objects floating around. What are they?

Fox: We don’t know. One shot me down, and…

Krystal: Agh!

Fox: Krystal, what?

Krystal: I sense a gathering in Hyrule! We must go now!

Fox: Samus, go to Hyrule. We’ll meet you there!

Samus: Gotcha. Samus out!

Chapter Eight

Bottles the mole popped out from underground. He was in Hyrule castle courtyard. He looked up, and saw a young woman standing before him.

Zelda: Bottles?

Bottles: Your highness! Long time no see!

Zelda: Yes… Bottles, we’re in a bit of a crisis here. We’re under attack from small…

Bottles: Grill things?

Zelda: Yes! How do you know?

Just then, Tooty popped up from the hole, followed by Banjo and Kazooie.

Banjo: They’re all over Spiral Mountain, your Highness!

Kazooie: Yeah, get rid of them quick, I want to go home!

Zelda stared into the sky, which was swarming with strange black grills. She called for Link, the Hero of Time, to be brought to her at once. She then turned back to the Spiral Mountain inhabitants.

Zelda: What has become of Gruntilda?

Kazooie: We don’t know.

Zelda: Hmm… and Ganondorf is safely locked up…

Tooty: I don’t think it’s a regular villain person, I think is a really nasty person!

Kazooie: Never have guessed.

Mario and Luigi then turned up, along with Yoshi, Bowser and many, many Toads.

Mario: Princess Zelda, we come for help!

Luigi: The Mushroom Kingdom! Filled with flying grills!

Banjo: Everywhere else is having problems too! What do we do?

Chapter Nine

Tommy Vercetti was huge. Absolutely gigantic. He was very nearly hitting the roof of the warehouse.

Tommy: Ahahahahahaha! Thank you, Cheato! Now I am indestructible! INDESTRUCTABLE!

Ratchet: Tommy, the book’s gone!

Tommy: No matter, he is of no further use. I have everything I need now. Activate the BrainStation!

Cheato was in fact, up at Vice Point. He had made his was there, avoiding sight. He was desperate to get to Hyrule, where he knew there was a gathering. He did not know how he knew; all he knew was that it was absolutely necessary to get there.

Taking a deep breath, he held L+R and pressed A, Z ,B, C up, C down and C right. A large tank landed with a crash on top of a nearby police car. Gaining one star, he climbed into the tank, started the engine, heading towards the Vice City/Hyrule border.

Due to lack of any limbs, Cheato was trying to drive with his pages. This lead to multiple crashes, and soon the Vice City military was after him. But he well on his way now, less than four miles off the border.

Chapter Ten

Samus was preparing to land in Hyrule Field. She had been followed by the Great Fox, which landed shortly after she did. The four Star Fox team members disembarked, as well as General Peppy Hare and R.O.B 64. Samus disembarked. Yoshi greeted them.

Krystal: Hello, Yoshi!

Yoshi: Hello!

Falco: We’re here to help. Where is everyone?

Yoshi: Everyone in meeting. Yoshi sent to bring you to them.

Fox: Let’s get there as fast as we can!

Yoshi, the Star Fox team and Samus headed for Hyrule castle. When they got there, they met the rest of the characters. Mario, Luigi, Bowser, the Toads, Link, Zelda, Banjo, Kazooie, Tooty and Bottles were crowded around a table.

Zelda: Ah, Star Fox. And Samus! I have unfortunate news. I have just declared war on these objects that are globally causing virtual panic. The Toads have just formed an army, correct?

Toad: That’s right, your highness!

Zelda: Link, I’d like you to call for the Hyrule Guards, please. Get them prepared for a possible battle.

Link: As you wish.

Link left.

Bowser: I’ll send for what’s left of my Koopa Army.

Fox: Likewise, I’ll send for the Cornerian Army.

Mario: I’ll run and fetch other people to help us!

Bowser, Fox and Mario left. Kirby came running in, chased by a grill.

Kirby: Help meee!

Banjo: Woah!

Kazooie popped out from Banjo’s backpack and heroically Grenade Egged the grill.

Kirby: Thanks Kazooie!

Kazooie: No problem.

Bottles: Slippy and me are going to check out this thing. See if we can find out anything about it.

Slippy: Let’s go!

Bottles and Slippy picked up the broken grill and left.

Chapter 11

Mario had gathered them from all over the globe - and beyond - to fight. Captain Falcon was standing before the other F-Zero racers, motivating them. Donkey Kong and all the other Kongs were preparing themselves. Juno, Vela and Lupus were armed with Tri-Rocket Launchers. Captain Olimar and Louie were telling the Pikin battle tactics. Master Chief was loading his weapons. At noon they went to the hill in Hyrule Field, awaiting their opponents.

On the other hill, a Gigantic Tommy Vercetti first appeared. After him, swarms of grills were hovering towards the opposing army. Then every single third-party character appeared on the hill. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Geno, Mallow, KOS-MOS... all of them. And each and every one of them had crimson eyes.

Suddenly, a tank burst out ofthe cliff side, and fired at Tommy Vercetti. The shot went through him as if he wasn't there. Both sides ran down the hills at each other and the war began.

This Fic's getting revived! No more illustrations, though.

Chapter 12

The battle raged on. Many Toads and other creatures had died already from Dr Eggman's first strike - a large cannon blast from Space Colony ARK. ARK had the power to destroy the entire Earth, but it was on low charge. It had hit the first legion of the Toad Army square on.

Super Mario ran up towards the massive Tommy Vercetti. He leapt up... up... up... and was about to kick him square in the chest. He went right through him and out the other side. It was like Vercetti wasn't even real. Mario backflipped and landed on Cheato's tank. He climbed inside.

Mario: cheato, what's going on?

Cheato: Vercetti has used a Gameshark - he used an enlargement code. It made him appear big, but his 3D model is still the same. Attack him in between his feet!

Mario: How will I know where?

Cheato: Look at his shadow. It will tell you where he is. Now go!

Chapter 13

Mario leapt from the tank. He landed at the great feet of Tommy Vercetti. However, Mario saw that Vercetti's shadow was between his feet and small. Mario kicked the air above the shadow. The huge body of Tommy Vercetti stumbled and fell. He lay motionless as his unconscious state removed the effects of the GameShark.

Mario looked around. The third-party characters were recovering from their red-eyeness and odd state. The war was over, and Nintendo, with help from Microsoft, had come out the winner.

And That's the end. Hope you enjoyed this short story!
