View Full Version : dead B-K site of the week!

23rd October 2004, 08:17 PM
each week, this thread will showcase a new dead Banjo-Kazooie site, or the remaining memories of one for no good reason whatsoever.
this week: the banjo-kazooie center (http://come.to/~bkazooie)
time of death: pre B-T
status: degraded
most hilarious aspect: untrue theories about Banjo-Tooie
coming next week: dabreegster, missing in action or working behind-the scenes?

Ahh, that was a good read. Oh, for the days of going on rumors and speculation, and completely missing the mark.

There were some awesome BK/BT sites out there, but so many of them have died...
Dabreegster? I think I remember him.

I think YBK closed on October 9th, 2001. Not sure about that, but it sounds right.

Ah, I remember YBK. They had sooo many BK/T mp3's, which was one major reason why I liked the place. Besides the updates.
If it were open, I'd probably get a Mad Monster Mansion and MMM Church mp3 right now.

26th October 2004, 04:58 AM
I could give you those, BlueBreegull.
Ah, YBK, my most favorite of dead B-K sites. I used to hang around that place like it was my escape into fantasy. Ah the good times, the good games, the good "Ask Kazooie" mailbag. Man, I have nothing bad to say about that place.

Yes , that's the problems with the actual Banjo-Internet, there aren't a big website (in english :D , like YBK , or BFBA at his time (2 years ago) to be like a light-house for all the others websites, that reminds me I've write an article on it , but it is in French
Here the google translation (http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.lgdg.net%2Fbkommando% 2Fdossier%2Fcrise.php&langpair=fr%7Cen&hl=fr&ie=UTF8&oe=UTF8)
YBK was soooo good :( , but RWP still alive ! :)

WAhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!
Oh God, Everything that was sweet and good about my childhood is gone!
The Hope of Banjo Tooie!
BK:GR Sucking!
The Rare witch project 1.0, YBK, Banjo Hive, Banjo chronicle data Base
And the one that got me through it all while the others remain dead,
Banjo Fella's Breegull Avairy!
And that faithful night years ago, it seems. when I saw a Picture of Banjo With an X-Box!
The tears that were shed! On that faithful night, I swore never to draw a banjo comic again. Until Nintendo were reunited with them.
Rare is now dust in the wind...
But fret Not my friends! Old wounds heal! And there's hope...
Rare is allowed to make games on portibles... like the better than N64
Nintendo DS.
This is Rare's Chance! They could somehow connect BK:GR and BK:3
because the DS has two slots! This is the miricle we've been waiting for.
Banjo Got me through that terrible summer of Grandmother's Death... Banjo
Made me closer to my family, Banjo was the first videogame I ever had.
That birthday in 98.
When my Dad told me if I opened one of smaller packages I'd figure
out what was in the big one. I reached for one package. I opened it up.
It was unfamilar to me. But Then : Only for N64.
That was the happiest day of my life.
I may get old. I may get crazy. I will die. but the memories in that machine were ones that will last a king's age.

Yes White Jinjo ! you're right !I will never forget the momentI've turn off my N64 with Banjo-Tooie (yes I've started with BAnjo-Tooie :( ) How great was this moment , I remember my August 2001 : THE BANJO-TOOIE month for me.
Now, Rare has destroy Banjo's world in a sucked in urine Game , insanly called Grunty's Revenge :( :(
We don't have any news from BK3 , Banjo-Pilot doesn"t look as good as it was in Mays 2004.... and all this websites closed ....Perhaps I'm too much nostalgic
(sorry for my horrible english , I'm very tired those days)

the dead B-K site of this week is....Banjo Series!
sadly, no URL is available for this dead website.
The most remarkable parts of this website were the 3 comics I contributed, and the 3-D fan-based Banjo Game which is still under production (but halted) here. (http://www.mikegproductions.cjb.net/)

Oh.... I loved B-T Hive... Mike was so talented! I loved reading his Banjo comics over and over again. Sad he had to shut it down, though and I don't know what's up with his Koopa Village website. It won't work on my computer.

Yes, indeedy. Although I still have something of a *cough* backup on KV on my computer...
...but I think I (maybe Mike was involved in this, too) decided that it's not going anywhere. ;)
Anyway, there's actually an old version of the Hive still online (http://bthive.50g.com/). I think that was Mike's...3 host. I still remember the old URLs, too (with links to the site on archive.org, so you can see the old versions):
http://bthive.homestead.com (http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://bthive.homestead.com/)
http://www.crosswinds.net/~bthive (http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.crosswinds.net/~bthive)
http://bthive.50g.com/
http://www.bthive.co.uk/ (http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.bthive.co.uk)
It's just sad that I remember that, isn't it?

I'm afraid the comics croaked along with my hard-drive a few years ago. :(
I wish I had 'em, too :p
But yeah, I'm still around. I mainly popped back in here when news reached my ears of Bottles' Revenge being found, and kind of drift in and out periodically...

- oh I used to visit that site before Banjo Tooie came out! It used to have Donkey King 2's title music as a midi on the page.
It had images of the ice key chest and things , when back then SNS was not an abandoned project to our knowledge! So much hope and excitment!
Shame the sites there no more.

Ah, man, I used to have a HORRIBLE Banjo site under Braindead Banjo, my ol' Snitz forum account. It was a Geocities site called "Banjo's Honey Hut", and it had a picture of a Jiggy as the background, which made the yellowish-goldish text almost impossible to read. All I remember about it was that I had an "Origin of Kazooie" story, involving Banjo as an alcoholic. Good times.
