While I have never played a FF game in my life I'm very excited about FF: CC. The only things that seem to make me not like it as much as when I first heard about it are that, one it's release date has been changed to some time around Februray. (At least the last time I heard.) And the other things that I don't like about it, is that's it in real time. What happened to the turn-based mode! It seems like it'll now just be like a mid-evil Phantasy Star. But we'll see. I'm hoping this game will be good.

Yeah, I hate to double post, but my topic really deserves a chance, so it's time to put it up at the top.

Square makes some great games. I personally like Kingdom Hearts and FF X. Great games...if you have a PS2.
CC will probably be good. The graphics are much different than other FF games though.

I'm not expecting much from this game. While you can use the GameCube controller for single player, the controls are limited to a GBA scheme. Just using A for an action button while L and R switch through the number of possible attacks, magics, and actions sounds tedious and annoying to me. Who knows... Maybe it could end up being like a more involved version of Four Swords in FF style, which would be great.

I hope it dosn't turn out like FF5 and FF8 where things aren't so mid-evil (spelled wrong I know) because those games where just to advanced with trains and machinery.

so if this game isn't mid-evil style like the original, then I'm not getting it.

The game definitely doesn't take place in a high-tech world. I'm not sure if I could call what I've seen medieval either though, since I haven't seen things such as castles and knights etc in the screenshots. There just seems to be small villages. It doesn't seem to have much of a story other than "find the magic water for the crystals" so I can't glean much from that. I would say that the style is probably similar to that of older FF games in the way that FFIX was.

Since I've never played an FF game before this game seems really cool to me. I'm sure most of you think it's trash compared to the other ones. If I had played the others I probably would too.

I don't think it's going to be trash. I'm just worried about the limited control scheme. This game has the potential to be great or just good. The whole game seems to be focused on multiplayer so the single player mode might not be up to par. This is bad since I mostly buy games for a single player experience.

I actually haven't seen or heard any information about it except it will be for gamecube.

and I actually like the older FF games like FFIV better than the 3d ones for some reason.

so does anyone know where to get pics for it?

I don't really like FF games all that much(Yeah... I've played them all. I'm going to give them all 2nd chances though since I was young(er) when I played them...).

Tactics was the only one I really liked and it really wasn't a FF game. But I want this game. And it is released in my birthday month so I have a better chance of getting it. :D

As for screen shots try here PJ: http://www.gamespot.com/gamecube/rpg/finalfantasycrystalc/screenindex.html

I just hope it'll be good. Soul Calibur looks good. But it just doesn't seem to have enough variety. I want something that's long and challenging. I don't like how this isn't turn-baised either.

I never really got into the FF series. I always try out the strategy games that my cousin has played first. He usually makes good choices... I'll probably get onto FF when he does. I already like Squaresoft as a whole, but I guess I'm against them since they've made a good deal of what Sony is today. This 3rd-party thing will probably change things though. I'm all for it. :)

Sorry for reviving a somewhat old topic, but I just love FF so much. Don't kill me...

I'm pretty happy about CC, too. I won't mind if it's either futuristic or medieval, really. My favorite so far was IX, tho. (Kuja!!! ^_____^) I'm very close to finishing VIII now, too. Eden rules... heehee.

The idea of using the GBA as a controller is new, but it hopefully won't be a major drawback. As long as we have things like summons and all that, it's good. Can't wait to see ones like Bahamut, Leviathan and Ifrit on the GC.
