I took a break of homework to touch up on my Bk hacking. I opened Project 64 version 1.6 and renegade 64. I was going to start refreshing my memory doing simple hacks like ammo hacks. when i went to search for 7 (how many bullets i have) i got an error saying "Error opening file or file not found". I reloaded renegade a couple of times, i got different versions and it says the same thing. i even redownloaded p64. any tips?

I have the same problem. In order to hack with Renegade I have to use 1964 0.99. I don't know why, but it doesn't work together with PJ64 on all PCs I tested it. Maybe it's kind of a country mismatch.

Hmmm... I have 1964 so i will try that. i guess it doesn't make much of a difference. if anyone knows how to fix it though that would help.

Thanks.

Are you trying to hack by attaching Renegade to an emulator and doing RAM searches, or are you trying to hack by comparing savestates?

Did you do an initial dump of the emulator's RAM before searching?

i think i did. i will try it again.

Edit - I still get the same error. I also tried with nineteen64 and it says the same thing.

You must open up Pj64 first, then R64 then attach it to the emulator (cheating > attach to emulator > select the running emulator from the drop down list) otherwise you will get that error.

If you close your emulator you and reopen it you will have to detach it and then re-attach it.

I have tried that and it doesn't work, but i will try again anyway... lets see..... I still get the same error. I started project 64, opened banjo kazooie, started renegade, then attached, and tried a code search. I have tried all combinations of opening/attaching... it doesn't seem to work.....
