This topic is mainly for Nick since he is the only one that seems interested, but hey, anyone can join and feel free to go along with it. It can be beneficial to anyone =).
This is a very simple topic. I'll work your skills up to become split faster and being able to get scores in the 2, 3, 4, and beyond thousands.
We'll do very simple challenges, and then when your skills in that division have become good enough, you will move on to the next challenge. Eventually your skills should be built up enough to pwn =).
Challenge 1
There are a couple different ways to hit the bag. The three most important are close hits, middle hits, and tippers.
Close hit - When you are...close to the bag.
Middle hit - Rarer than tippers and close hits. Happens when you are a couple pixels away from a tipper. Goes further than a close hit.
Tipper - When you are as far away as possible from the bag before swinging. Causes the bag to go further than a middle hit.
For this challenge, you want to grab the bat, and try to tipper the bag. You can only swing once so if you miss, reset. You also can't move the bag AT all. If you do, reset.
You could always cheat, and I'd never know, but hey, how does that help you? X_X.
Rank E - 360 Feet
Rank C - 380 Feet
Rank A - 400 Feet

I got the tipper at 404.5 feet. (Do you mean with all characters that can actually use the bat to hit the bag far, or just one character?)

Most of the characters can. I believe like, 21/25. C. Falcon can't hit with the bat at all...Heh.
Challenge 2
Ok, but still, sometimes you are going to have time to nudge the bag. Nudging can help you take a record by a couple feet, so its useless for preventing ties.
Using Mario, nudge the bag forward, and then swing at it. You can still tipper, but you again only get 1 swing.
Rank...
F - 360 Feet
E - 370 Feet
D - 380 Feet
C - 398 Feet

Yes I did, I said Mario. Mario is not Dr. Mario. They are seperate entitys. Oh well.
Challenge 3
To see where you are on speed and reaction time, we need to test. How you perform on this challenge will determine where we go from here...
Use Mario (not to be confused with Dr. mario). Grab the bat. Roll right, NON CHARGED Smash up A. If it does more than 15%, reset. Roll left...and continuously cape. Swing.
Rank...

I re-did the second challenge with Mario and got 417.9.
I also got 1119.4 feet on the third with Mario. Not exactly perfect, but I suppose it will do. :)
EDIT: Err... had to change what I said at the first part. Not 917, 417. >_<

"I re-did the second challenge with Mario and got 917.9. "
No you didn't, you had to swing at 0%. Lol.
Yes, I didn't expect an S or Grey SA, thats why...they are there =).
By the way, a Grey SA is a tipper at 192%...
Challenge 4
Alright, now we're going to see if you can small jump. Small jump is done by pretty the jump button (Y or X) lightly. If you don't jump with Y or X, start to.
Using mario (NOT Doctor Mario) you want to grab the bat, then small jump forward A the bag. If you large jump, don't attack. You can only forward A on small jumps.
Whats the catch? You have to swing when OR BFORE the announcer says "5". If you swing at 4 or later, it doesn't count.
Rank
F - Below 650
D - 650
C - 700
B - 750
A - 800
S - 900

Challenge 4
Alright now this test is going to see how fast you can do a series of different things together. It gives me an overall understanding of what you can do, and where your problems are.
You are going to be Mario...NOT Dr. Mario
NOTE: When I say jump, small or large, it's your call...except for number 5...
1: Grab the bat
2: Jump backwards, back A
3: Jump backwards, forward A
4: Smash Up A
5: SMALL JUMP* Forward A
6: Cape
7: Fireball
8: Roll Left
9: Fireball
10: Cape how many times you want
11: Swing

1369.8 It took me a while to pull off the Small Jump + Forward A thing. But I finally did it... >_<

Ok, this isn't a challenge....its...erm...
Skill 1
L cancelling, is a move that basically eliminates recovery time of an attack. This lets you do ANOTHER attack immediately.
For this, play as Mario again. Small jump forward A, and press L RIGHT before landing. Then smash up A.
If done right, you should be able to smash Up A IMMEDIATELY instead of having to wait on the ground for Mario to recover from the attack. If you don't, try again.
Practice this skill until you can do it pretty good. Use any character you wish. But remember, you can ONLY CANCEL A MOVES. You can NOT cancel B moves.
If you can't master this skill, you won't go far in HRC.

Hrmm... tell me, when you press the L button, is he suppose to do that dodging thing he does in the air, or is he suppose to have his shield flicker on and then off very fast? If it is the air one, then I don't see how in the heck that is possible. Everytime I do the small jump + forward A attack I go so low to the ground that he immediatly touchs it the first second his move makes the hit. (Making it so that I'm not able to pull off the airial dodge.)
Now if it is niether, could you tell me what it is suppose to look like? Lol...:p (Yeah... like I said before I'm stupid. )

Ok, we'll use Link, his slow ass is a better example.
This doesn't have to be in HRC...
Double jump in the air. Do your arial down A, and hit the ground. You will notice that you can't move for a couple seconds, because Link is stuck in the ground or whatever. This time consumption is irritated, no? We want to get rid of it.
Double jump in the air. Do your arial down A. Now press L RIGHT BEFORE you hit the ground. If done right, Link will pull it sword out immediately and you can move again quicker.
It doesn't look like ANYTHING you're just cancelling a move...

Haha.. I could sense it bit of a temper in that post. :p
Anyhoo, that does slow down recovery. Not to hard to pull off either. (I did it quite a few times with Mario in HRC. But I didn't think that was what it was though at the time.) Sorry for wasting your time on that.
Anyhoo, thanks for explaning that part a little more. >_<

Well, there WAS anger, but not at you. See I had just been using "slow ass Link" and he wasn't cooperating...and...yeah =P.
Ok, with that in mind, I want you to redo challenge 4, and you need an S rank or better to proceed. =P.
