Banjo was one of the first games (or the very first) to feature two main characters. Unlike Mario games, where one character was the avatar, BK had two in one avatar.

Now, there has been a sur of games with dual characters. Mario and the water pack from SMS, The fox guy and the little robot thing on playatation, and there are a few I can't remember.

So, was banjo the first of its kind? Is the mimicry of game devs in awe to the greatness of banjo?

Sonic and Tails, or mario and yoshi, were the 1st pairs. But I think Banjo and Kazooie was the first to be used like they were, sometimes as one, sometimes as two.

Diddy Kong and Dixie Kong in Donkey Kong Country 2. Tails simply followed Sonic and Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong never worked together. Diddy and Dixie did, though

Diddy and Dixie's team attacks weren't a major part of the game though like Banjo and Kazooie.
