very baisic question on hacking

i have a project 64 emulator and i was wondering how to get the coding for the game up for hacking. Ive hacked quiet a bit before but i cant figure out how to get it up. Do i need to have nemu 64? or have the original cartridge or what. sorry for the noob question:-/

If you mean viewing the actual memory with a memory viewer, then you need to use Nemu64.
