Heres one for you.

Which game doesn't fit on this list, and why? (Yeah theres about 500 different logical solutions, but there is only one that I am thinking of, that is the one you need.)

Asteroids
Frogger
Centipede
Super Smash Brothers Melee
Space Invaders

CLUES GIVEN THROUGHOUT THE TOPIC.

#1: These games also fit on that list.
Grand Theft Auto
Star Fox Adventures
Jet Force Gemini

#2: The game HAS been named in a post/posts before the post containing tip number 2.

#3: This game does NOT fit on the list.
Galaga

#4: Try MicroSoft Word

Super Smash Brothers Melee; It is a next-gen console game, and was out after the year 2000. All the others were created in the 80s.

Super Smash Brothers Melee, because 1) its original release date was long after the other games in the list and 2) it's the only one of those that hasn't been re-issued/re-worked/updated within the last decade.

Super Smash Bros Melee. It's the only fighting game on the list.

No, none of you are right. I'm not saying about if its the game or the reason. Every so many posts, I'll give clues.

#1: These games also fit on that list.
Grand Theft Auto
Star Fox Adventures
Jet Force Gemini

Ok Grey you've got my brain working again.:D Rare had a hand in SFA and JFG but i'm not seeing the connection with GTA.

Centipede stands out for some reason, but I'll be buggered if I can explain why.

Anyone?

Oh dear, I'm confused. I'm thinking towards frogger...but I can't think why.

This -> SSBM is a sequel the others aren't.

Or This -> SSBM has sold over 1 million copies the others haven't?
This -> SSBM has won awards (Like how its in Guinness book of records maybe? Isn't it?)
Or... Game Developers Rareware and Rockstar both start with the letter 'R'

Makers of the others don't...

I was thinking along the lines of some games being developed in Britain (Grant Theft Auto = Rockstar North, in Scotland, Starfox Adventures/Jet Froce Gemini = Rareware, In England.)

But I think i'm waaaaaaaaay off. :p

Frogger. Reason: All the other games have some kind of ability to shoot lasers/guns in the game. Frogger...you just get run over.

Nope. New clue.

#2: The game HAS been named in a post/posts before the post containing tip number 2. (This one)

Okay. It's Centipede. But why?

Maybe it's not supposed to be on the list because the list is Grey's Favorite Games, and it's not one of his favorites?

How you made that deduction from that is beyond me, unless you looked too deeply in to it. Because of that I've slightly revised that post. (Note that I'm not saying you're wrong, but the jump from not knowing to knowing from that clue is irregular. Note that I'm not saying you're right.)

And because the clue DID suck, here is clue #3.

#3: This game does NOT fit on the list.
Galaga

Galaga is a shooter game so that could rule out Asteroids, Centipede and Space Invaders. It COULD but that's just a guess.

How you made that deduction from that is beyond me

Centipede was only mentioned once, and you said "In a post." Of course, now that that's been changed...I'm back to total confusion.

After this clue, you should have it.

#4: Try MicroSoft Word

Once again, Frogger is my guess.

Reason: It's not a real word per se. Everything else has actual words in their titles. Frogger is just a contraction of Frog....and a ger. As such, it causes the misspelling red line below it in MSWord. (This is also why Galaga isn't on the list.)

I think BB's got it.

Yep I think so too, we'll find out soon.

Grey Jinjo
26th February 2005, 01:33 AM
Indeed. Frogger is the only game not consisting of real English-Dictionary words.

I knew that clue was too much of a give away. Oh well.

The odd thing is, if you give this question to NON-gamers, they can usually figure it out on their own without hints. And yes, I threw in SSB:M just to screw with you all. ;).

How about another riddle then? We may have better luck with this one.
