The press release linked in there has some slippery wording, though. Is it $6 per map for the first two premium maps and $12 for the other five premium maps after that ($72!), or is it $6 for the first two and then $12 for the rest? (I'm leaning towards the latter, because it's closer to the $20 MSRP of the bonus disc.) Fortunately, all of the maps will be available for free by the end of Summer (I think they said June or July), for those who don't want to pay for them.
Your thoughts?

I can't wait to play them. The screenshots on Bungie's website look amazing.
I'll probably just buy the disc in the store, though.

I'm pretty sure that's what they mean. But you never know.
I will probably buy the Disc because I don't have Xbox live. And although I want it my parents wont get a useable credit card.... So no Live for me :(

Apparently, they plan on releasing the 4 mentioned maps in late April. First two maps are free. It will be $5.99 for both Turf and Sanctuary. And on June 28, the other 5 maps, Terminal, Relic, Elongation, Gemini, and Backwash, will cost $11.99 altogether.
Bungie also plans on releasing the auto-update for cheats before the first maps come out.

I'm so glad they're going to get that auto-update out soon, because I'm sick of being standbyed and dummied every other day. And being accused of doing the same. When we were first told about it a few months ago, I was hoping that they'd do it in early April, but it looks like they're going for mid-to-late April instead. Oh well. At least we'll be able to get the auto-update, playlists update, and a 2 vs. 2 playlist all in one go.
Does anyone else think that Elongation will be a remake of Longest, and that Relic will probably be an update to some other map? I mean, we've already got Coagulation (update to Blood Gulch), and we're going to get Warlock (Wizard) and Containment (if you can't see this is a homage to Sidewinder, you need help), so it stands to reason that Bungie will probably try and appeal to their Halo 1 multiplayer fans at least one more time during this map spree.
Hey, one more map, and they'll be on a Map Riot! *shot*

How ironic, given that Halo 2 is a FPS.
Hah!

Ehem Icy, don't forget the remake of Beaver Creek. (Whatever it's called.) And, by the way, sorry for ditching your party invite after begging for one. MSU vs Kentucky was on. :)

Oh, yeah. Forgot about Beaver Creek (remake of Battle Creek). Also, that's OK. I can understand how March Madness affects some. ;)
Hakey, I'm not following whatever you just said. :p What I said was a reference to "Running Riot," which is a medal you get (in Halo 2, obviously) for killing 10 people without dying.

So when you wrote "*shot*" you weren't actually shot then? :D

Fortunately not. ;)
Although if I was the tenth map/kill, that "*shot*" could enhance the Running Riot joke and give it some semblance of meaning.

I really hate to double-post, but I feel this bump is necessary.
In their April Fool's Update (about "Chiron-TL35" and Mountain Dew product placement), Bungie apparently confirmed that Elongation is going to be a remake of Longest. I still recommend taking this with a grain of salt, though, since they went overboard on their April Fool's jokes.
