Do you think it would be a good idea to remake wind waker? I mean not the general story but the looks and maybe some levels?

Well, it's a fairly recent game see I can't see it being remade just yet, they're more likely to remake Oot.
Oh wait, they did, it's called Master Quest.

I mean like later on

I don't know...make it longer? I liked Wind Waker alot (refer to sig) but I found it too short.

Maybe in like, ten years.

Porky

well apparently there were many dungeons taken out for whatever reason, i'd like to see them re-surfaced somewhere, but a brand new game of that style would be very nice

Smouvy
29th April 2008, 08:26 PM
well, there weren't 'many' Dungeons taken out, only one, the one for the 3rd pearl from Jabun. Yeah, that'd be a good inclusion! It seriously lacked an annoying water temple.

I always found it odd that Jabu just gave it to you.*

*Isn't it Lord Jabu Jabu, not Jabun?

(EDIT) It's Jabu-Jabu, not Jabun.

(EDIT) More On-Topic: No, it's great the way it is right now. Unless they're going to make Gamecube controller compatible with it, no.

Smouvy
29th April 2008, 08:39 PM
:P I played the game just today, in PAL versions it's Jabun

Avarice
29th April 2008, 08:39 PM
It's Jabun. Jabu-Jabu was in OoT.

...Yes? Aren't they the same?

Porky
29th April 2008, 08:50 PM
nope, Jabun is a descendant of Jabu-Jabu, just like The Great Deku Tree in TWW is the Deku Tree Sprout from OoT

Avarice

I thought that was just implied.

I always thought that they were the same fish, just a Wind Waker cartoony redo.

ConkerTribe

No, I wouldn't want it redone, simply because it doesn't NEED to be redone. See what I'm saying? Perhaps people didn't like the cel-shadedness of it, but that's their problem. The game is epic just the way it is. Prettying up the graphics won't change that one bit.

Bartimaeus
29th April 2008, 10:43 PM
I said that before, Conker. Why redo it when it's already a great game? I mean, there's some things that could be improved, but aren't there in every game?

I actually liked the Jabun section, thought it was an interesting way of doing it instead of just a load of dungeons. Plus, going across the permanently rainy sea with that music was bloody EPIC

The looks are better the way they are. The Wind Waker wouldn't be the Wind Waker without it's signature cel-shading appearance. As for levels, I think I would prefer a Wind Waker sequel over remaking the game.

Please, please... If you must abbreviate my name, call me Tribe, if you would. ;)

Personally, I would like to see it re-made on the wii. And also, to have it's graphics be changed. You know, ditch the cartoonish look and go for a more Twilight princess look. It's kinda hard to explain, but if they did make a new version of it, this is the only change I would like to see. Make the sea look clear and realistic, not paint looking and flat... Most of you probably get where i'm comming from.^_^

It doesn't look/play bad enough to warrant a remake.

I wouldn't say no to a Master Quest-esque remix, though.

Good point. Too many Conkers.

But yeah, it's a great game as it is, so I see no reason to remake it at all. I also think the graphics are absolutely fine - it's SUPPOSE to be different. If it hadn't, it would've looked like Ocarina of Time. There's already three games with Ocarina of Time's graphics style; OoT, MM, and TP. We don't need another.

The Wind Waker already has a sequel. It's Phantom Hourlgass.

As said earlier, Jabun is a descendant of Lord Jabu Jabu and the Great Deku Tree is the Deku Sprout from Ocarina of Time. The Koroks are the Kokiri.

It was hinted at a long time ago that there will be Gamecube games remade onto the Wii that will utilize the Wii remote controls.

If anything I'd make it look even more pen-and-ink drawn. It's a style that we really need to see more of, and I'm glad they used it.

A re-release with a bit of added content would be nice (co-op!), but it would be much nicer to see another new Zelda title ;*) They've been making them more often as of late, and I'm not about to complain.

How about Wind Waker with Okami-like graphics and being able to control time, wind, weather, and all that stuff with the wiimote similar to Okami's paintbrush.

In fact, just hand the whole project over to former Clover employees.

Tribe, please put the [sarcasm] or [anti-sarcasm] wotchamahcallitthingymahbobbers when you say stuff like that. I honestly have no idea which one it is.

+1

The look of the game is what is going make this game date far less than most of the other games released at the same point in time, whilst the gameplay itself is what fitted what was going on in the story throughout the game.

I'd far prefer that people spent time and effort in making new games rather than retreading old ground.

Plus, going across the permanently rainy sea with that music was bloody EPIC

Oh, yeah, I loved that part too!

Short? You've got to be joking. It took me weeks to find everything in the game. It's 100x complex as the other Zelda games.

Eh, i'd have to disagree. The hardest zelda i've seen is the majoras mask.^_^

As Far as I know TP is probably the easiest with WW following TLOZ and MM are probably the hardest.

Wind Waker? That game was great, and unless they're making a "master quest"-esque thing of it, it should be left alone. I'd rather see the CD-i games redone in Twighlight Princess style....

See, what made Majoras mask hard for me was the 3 day time limit. I would get so close to either battling a boss, or beating one, then i'd wind up having to go back in time and get to him all over again. It was really a pain in my rear. ^_^

You could have just slowed time down, you know.

I know, it still happened to me when I used it, the song I mean. The main part was the goron mountain part, you know, where the redeads and skeletons are everywhere. That slow down time trick didn't help me much in certain areas. Now, during the pirates fortress and the sea temple, yeah, it helped me there alot. o-O

Although TP is the easiest, it's most definitely the longest. I found parts of WW tricky but managed to beat the game fairly quickly, whereas I didn't struggle through Twilight Princess much at all but took me very long to beat.

ok, do you think anything should be added or taken away from wind waker, besides levels? (because they're not really levels they're more like islands)
