Rare's Next XBLA Title

Rumor has it (http://softrockhallelujah.blogspot.com/2008/01/january-third-things.html) that Rare will release at least one XBLA title this year and it will involve Mr. Pants in some way (http://softrockhallelujah.blogspot.com/2008/01/just-remember-this-in-this-country-they.html). Originally Surfer Girl said "One of those Rare XBLA titles stars Mr. Pants", but Mundorare corrected her. (http://mundorare.com/news/2008/02/goldeneye-007-is-not-getting-reincarnated-on-a-different-game/)

Mundorare constantly leaves hints in its articles, and in the article I liked to above, it says "according to our own sources- there is no port nor new title of Mr Pants for Xbox Live Arcade in the making." After this article was posted. Surfer Girl changed her rumor to "One of those Rare XBLA titles features Mr. Pants". I think that's a pretty big hint, saying "featured" instead of "stars" or "cameos".

Now usually, when a character is "featured" in a game, that means that the character is more involved in the game than simply a cameo, meaning it's one of 3 genres, and since one Rare employee has been quoted (http://kotaku.com/382637/microsoft-rare-gyration-talk-360-wii-remote-rumors)saying "We really don't want to run the risk of being pigeonholed as a casual games developer", we can throw out The Party Game genre, so that leaves 2 other genres:
-Kart Racing
-Fighting

Here's what I think the XBLA title could be:

Rareware Racing:
What if Sabreman Stampede wasn't canceled, but rather drastically downscaled? Imagine Diddy Kong Racing, except, throw out the Kongs and Kremlins, and bring in Rare's finest: the other DKR racers, the Banjo universe, the Conker universe, the VP universe, the Mr. Pants universe, the KI universe, etc...online multiplayer, leaderboards, and a deep level editor could make this quite awesome, but only second to my other hope:

Killer Instinct XBLA:
It's KI, KI2, and a brand new KI. Although KI was a strong fighting game, people will probably buy it on nostalgia alone, and since one major part of XBLA is nostalgia, it would seem that they would go hand in hand. It would also quench the thirst of rabid KI fans, at least for a little while. Also, in said KI XBLA title, it would have crossover battles. Imagine: Mr. Pants vs. Rash, Juno vs. Pummel Weed, or even Cooper pummeling the candy out of a Horstatio! And with Online Multiplayer, this could very well own XBLA!

So what do you think the title is, assuming Mr. Pants will be "featured" in it, some way?

You know, even for improved graphics in specific, Goldeneye would be pretty nifty online, NOT to be confused with "Rougue Agent", which was a piece of blue crap.
And if rumor has it, KI3 WAS shown on the Christmas stocking in the Rare Christmas Card. I could be mistaken, but meh.

But what weapons would they have? And Maps? And even specific characters (other than Mr. P)

I don't think it'll happen. Goldeneye was supposed to be that game, and look where that ended up.

Why couldn't it be a 2D platformer? Like the original Prince of Persia titles, which were EPIC!

I agree. The 2D Platformer is a lost art that shouldn't be put ignored. The PoP games were great, it's just seems that most people think the lack of dimension means the game will automatically suck, which is wrong and a shame.

I read about this when the Rare Motion Remote rumors first started circulating, but I can't find the article. Apparently the game will feature a few of Rare's properties. Whatever it is, I'm looking out for it.

I like the idea of a fighting game with Rare's characters, but I doubt they'll do it as it'll look like a Brawl rip-off. I'm most definitely in support of them turning Goldeneye Live Arcade into a Mr. Pants FPS, though.

What they should do is just flipping release Goldeneye, regardless of weither or not Ninty complains. It's a great game and it should be on XBLA.
