I've been using the Rice Video Plugin on my Project 64 emulator, and I have a problem. I made my custom textures for Gruntilda's Lair and I put them in the hires_texture folder, then when I checked "Load hi-res textures if available", I reloaded the ROM and went to Gruntilda's Lair and nothing has changed, how do I get my custom textures to show up in Gruntilda's Lair?

make sure if you replace a 16 color thing BMP, you also put a 16-color-thing BMP in the high res folder with the exact same name as the texture you want to overwrite. If it still doesn't work then, make sure that the new texture has the same size as the old texture as well.

Ok, it did not work completely, the castle tiles I ripped from Super Mario Bros. did not show up, I did exactly as you said, I made them the same size and type as the old textures but the part of Grunty's Lair where you have to use the Talon-Trot to get to the first Note Door is all glitchy instead of showing the Castle tiles, how do I fix it?

Glitchy how? Can you post a screen shot so I can get a better overview at it?

I guess I'll have to figure it out myself. I'm not going to give up that easily.

Good luck! I've always had problems with it :( so I don't think I can help, but if you figure it out, let me know what you did! :)

What? You used BMP files from Banjo game to upload your texture work? I thought PNG file is the only way to upload textures successfully...

If you exchange the PNG files, you need PNGs, if you exchange the (16 Color)BMPs, you need to replace them with (16C)BMPs.

At least, that's how it works with Rice Video Plugin I think, I dunno how BKTexture Tool works, never got that to work.

I've always thought you needed only PNG files to replace textures like with Super Mario 64, I mean after all, Banjo-Kazooie does use a modified Super Mario 64 engine doesn't it?

I'm fairly certain Rice's plugin can use other formats other than the 16-bit format. I mean, sure as heck one can't make stuff like this (http://emutalk.net/showthread.php?t=41509) with a limited BMP like that.

Texture ripping from a game isn't game specific, as you guys are saying above. All the plugin does is rip the textures it finds; engines have nothing to do with it. As long as the texture has the same dimensions and file format as the original rip, it should work fine (and that the folder name is right, too).

For your problem on the weird pathway, it may be that the original image was stretched to cover the ground, making your image look funky since that was taken into consideration (if true).
