Comics anyone?

My friend and I are comic makers. We create all of our own sprites, and make our comics to the highest quality a sprite comic can have. We made some pretty famous comics on another website. Infact to the point we have the biggest forum topic with the most posts in there artwork forums history.

And I was thinking that I would start to make comics on this website with Banjo sprites that I would create.

I will create characters from the game world. And the characters in the game will be the type of character they were in a game.

ex: So there could be different characters that could be gruntlings. But color and personality would distinguish them.

But I wanted to know if it was okay to do that here. And I wanted to see if anyone would actually read them and post on the topic like they did with the other comics we made.

I would put new comics up as much as I could. And I promise they would have good quality that are always funny and original.

So should I start making them here?

Yes, I will accept guest stars. But I need to know if it is a good idea to make comics on this site. This won't be the comic topic. I am just trying to find out what peoples opnions are here. And if I should make my comics here at the RWP.

Lol ok. It will probably be a week or two before I actually start making the comics because I create all the sprites and such. If you check out my other comics you can see what I mean.


So do the majority of the people think that it is okay that I make comics on The RWP?

Edit: Here is an example of the type of comics I make.

I made this comic after I let the guest star list go over about 100 people. And they were all mad at me, so I made a comic with all of them in it. :D

Do you guys like it? And would you like me to make comics based in the banjo universe? With Banjo Sprites. Or something completely different?

Alright, firstly, the actual graphics are brilliant. However, might I suggest not pillow-shading them (or: having the light coming from the direct front) and instead picking a light source like top left, top right, left, etc.

The font you're using for the dialog isn't too great for sprite comics. Comic Sans really only works with drawn comics. I would suggest something like fixedsys or plain old Arial.

Also, the length. A bit too long don't you think? You could probably fit most of the stuff that happens into half the amount of panels you have there. The comedy also comes across better when you have less panels, which is why most comics in newspapers are only 3-6 panels.

I do like the idea though, and I wish you the best of luck :).

Well actually CK. That comic was especially long due to the fact I had to fit so many guestars in. I have ten- twenty panels in each of my comics normally. My comics have multiple jokes not just one punchline usually.

Thank you for the compliment on the graphics. I wish you could PM a link to an example of a comic withoug pillow shading. To see if I would be able to change it.

I actually agree with you 100% on the fact the font is horrible. I will change to comic sans for sure.

I think it would be a great idea to make Banjo sprite comics. Judging by your work, you'd do really well at it.

I think it would be a great idea, but whether or not you'll attract people to it is the real question here. I know I would love for my character, Mr. Fitz, to be shown in your comic some time as a guest star. :)

CT, you think it is actually a good idea? I recall you saying that you are ashamed of sprite comics and are offended by them. I am glad that you are interested and want to guest star. :)

Well, I had a change of heart, I guess... Anyway, I was more talking about the sprite comics people just make with premade sprites and MS Paint and look really poor and don't even bother developing the comedy... Yours seems to look like quality stuff. :)

Thank you very much. I try to put quality into the comics. Everything in the comics are made 100% by me (and the other alias under the name Dark709, who is my neighbor and teamate in most sports) I actually am also offended when someone uses my sprites, that I make for my comics. And the fact that they obviously put no effort into there comics.

Sounds pretty much like you've read people's n00b comics and not the well known ones.
