Well, it happened to me on Mario 64, and has happned to other people, well it happned to me on Banjo Kazooie the other day. I turned the game on, and all my files had been erased, turned it off, back on again, still gone!
I played the game from the begning untill I got to Clankers Cavern, as I entered the game locked up on a black screen, so I pulled the cartridge out, and put it back in, and my files had re appeared, as if they never dissapeared in the first place.
I have heard people say that it can happen when the game has not been used for a while, although my game was used the day before.
Just thought I would share it with you.

Wierd... I would figure that starting up a whole new save would corrupt all the old saves and make it so they could never come back... Well, atleast thats what I use to think.

Something like that happen to me, but I think it's because of the Egg & Key codes. Once, all my files were erased, and again every time I turned the game on and off, and then all of a sudden they all re-appeared.

I wonder what would have happned if I had saved when I was playing on a new file, if I saved the game, would it have erased the data that would soon re appear on the file?
I think when it happned on Mario I saved, but the old file came back and wiped over my new save game.

Self-erasing? I would go into Banjo's House to have a go at the Bottles' Bonus game then I would exit the house only to find everything as if I had just suddenly started the game. I hate that.

weirdest thing that happened to me was my file just totally disappeared one day (BK). I started a new one, got like 70 jiggys and like 3 weeks later the old file(game completed) came back and the 70 jiggy one was gone. VERY weird.

Same happened to me. One day all my SM64 files were gone and I played into it about 11 stars then I saved and turned it off and then on a week later to see all my files back except the new one.
