There is no greater love than this: to lay down one's blood for one's leech.

Google and Wiki are your friends. I had no idea that people kept these at pets though.

Two funny things: 1, you misspelled intelligent, 2, the people you're insulting actually got it right: Leeches eat blood.

Worms. Although I honestly wouldn't recommend keeping a leech because they can be harmful to your heath if it sucks your blood.

Wrong, it's the opposite. They take out the toxics from your body through your blood. Hospitals use them all the time.

who gives a kid a leach for a pet? (if you are a kid)
but in your topic hears an idea...put salt all over it.

Since I consider myself intelagent (lol), I'll answer. A leech is a parasite, so therefore it must have some kind of host. It will need another animal to "leech" off of.

It will still suck your blood which can be dangerous due to risk of infection or anything of that kind. That's why you shouldn't pour salt on them if they are on you, because they might regurgitate into your wound.

No, but i will *try* to post intelligently

Leeches do live on blood (i've had a few bite me) so unless you want them to suck your blood everyday i would say get another pet (maybe earthworms if you like leeches-unless you like for the 'gross' factor, then i would suggest spiders ;))

Leeches eat worms and other invertebrate like I said in my first posts. Seriously you guys, Wikipedia is great.

Just buy a mouse and let the leech feed off of it. Then...I don't know, throw the mouse out. Leeches only need to eat once per season I think.

Articerile

Are you sure it's a leech? Because from your description of 'it's cute', and from the fact that leeches are blood sucking parasitic worm-like creatures I'm asume you've got something mixed up.

Are you sure it's not a kitten you have? In which case I recommend cat food.

TheNinthDoctor

Hmm, it seems that some leeches do indeed eat worms and not blood. So we need to know the species of the leech in question.

However, I believe that the OP is laughing his existence off, because this whole thing smacks of anti-serious.
