If Rare are still making games that use the Donkey Kong franchise (Donkey Kong Country 3 is in delvelopment for GBA, even though it's Nintendo's IP)
Why can't they give us our Donkey Kong Racing for Gamecube that we Deserved!?

Because MS lets Rare make games for handhelds, since MS doesn't have one of their own. They do, however, have a console, so no games for other consoles.

Here's the real question, though... Can Rare give the game to Nintendo to pick up development? Or is this game pretty much doomed never to see the light of day?

Donkey Kong Racing was to be made on the Xbox with Sabreman instead...until Microsoft stepped in and halted the project.

Frankly I believe this was actually a good choice by MS, as I just don't think it would have done well. Sabreman isn't exactly a popular character in many respects, so unless the actual gameplay was something spectacular, it would just stand as another mediocre racing game.
