Keep pressing it (with the console off) That works sometimes.

well, two things. despite what i said earlier, its not the reset button. i messed up. its the open the top button. and, ive gotten it to stop by keeping pressing it, i know that trick. i want a little more of a long term solution.

Should still be under warranty, call Nintendo or ask your shop you bought it from about replacing it.

mine does that as well. but it is only everynow and then. i'm not worried about it. it's nothing major so I find it easier to ignore it. (it would happen about 1/20 times)

I got GC the day it came out.. heck the hour it came out and lucky for me mine works perfect. I have a friend that has needed to return 2 xbox's before he got a working one. Xbox's are very very poorly made.... according to best buy when I got my gamecube... they had 60 xboxs on the first day it came out and 40 some were returned.... it was either 42 or 43 I tihnk.

Yeah, I have been in shops and seen Xboxes being returned and changed for working ones a few times.

Of course there is always an exception. My first GameCube stopped reading discs (right after the warranty expired!!!) and I had to buy a second one, while my Xbox and PS2 still work perfectly. I always have the worst luck...

Right after it expired!

You are right...you do get the worst luck!;)

If you still can't fix it, Nintendo has repair centers you can take your GameCube too. If you go to their website, you can probably find an address to take it to. And like a bunch of other people said here, if your warranty isn't up yet, you can probably replace it.

I wish I knew what you meant. Then I would give you a much more substantial answer.
