I actually think tha the image is supposed give us a clue that Blackeye will have something to do with...er...something...

What do you think?

Lol...I don't think an actual black eye, plus other minor cuts and bruises will actually lead us to "Blackeye." Still, with a lot of crap still pouring out of DK64, who knows. Or maybe Blackeye is just a running joke for people inside Rare, making fun of Boswood. :p

*whispers "Botwood"*

This picture is pretty appropriate for him...if anyone remembers, in GoldenEye 007, he was the scar-faced guard. In one beta version, all of the guards bore his mug. A little shameless self-promotion? ;)

I don't think black eye will have to do with anything.

I think Black eye has been just a cameo appearance since the first day anyone suspected anything. Since the original tittle was Dream, then he must've been the main character or "the giant". Then he was replaced by banjo.

Since his job is taken over, he became a drunk wreck who wanted water. He gives you doubloons just to make the game easyer. The word dream that he says must've been a clue that he was the original main character. So Rare probably just wants to show players who the original character was in the beginning. He probably was just an idea that the programmers dropped and they finally turned him into a sprite in BT. Wanting water is just part of a joke used to show...I'm not sure about that yet. everything I said might be wrong but I hope SOMEONE gets the idea for what I'm saying.

No, Blackeye was originally the bad giant (then replaced by grunty) Banjo was always the main character.

As I understood it, the giant was large and green. After Rare made Gruntilda the main villain, the giant became Klungo.

Perhaps it wasn't even either of those. It may have been just a giant and had no name or based up on anyone.

Although, Blackeye is probably the most likely candidate if it was based up on any character.

No, Blackeye was never originally the giant according to Rare.

(I'm certain they've said that at one point)

that's just my opinion. But they probably could use him for something in the future since he had to purpose in the past.(besides worthless doubloons.)

Or, maybe Blackeye was just supposed to be a funny character who made finding doubloons easier...

There's something that always bothered me about DK64 (Other than Lanky Kong, of course).

Once you start on DK Isle, go to the left, towards the waterfall that K.Rool crashes under. Right before the cave with the bamboo grille across it, you'll find a cliff.

There's a very low-res Bamboo Tree stuck into the corner, it's like it's blocking something. Anybody ever notice that?

Yes, I have noticed that before.
