DOOM XBLA .disk Unpacker

This is for unpacking the assets from the .disk in the DOOM XBLA game. It is a console application so no UI. I included a bat file to do it for you. All you have to do is put the .disk file with the application the run the bat. Or you can do it the old fashion way and just use CMD.

Find the DOOM CON in Partition3\Content\0000000000000000\58410824\000D0 000

Extract doom.disk with WxPirs and use my app.

This extracts to C:\assets so if your running vista make sure you run as administrator. It may work on other .disk files if they exist, I havent found any though. Its beta right now so there may be bugs, but I havent found any yet.

I know some may not be interested, but im having fun researching this game and I like to share my progress.

UPDATE: Now extracts folders too, so all assets will be in the correct folders. Now there are two new functions.

<DISKunpacker.exe> <unpack> <FileName> Unpacks the file.

<DISKunpacker.exe> <list> This shows the list of items in the filetable.

<DISKunpacker.exe> <info> Gets the informatin about the application.

too bad there isn't a Pirs resigner...
could use them for other games tho..

I know the WAD file is the same as the old one so its usable in the orignal doom. If I had an xbox 360 development kit I could make custom maps.

hmmm... I can't open the .PAT files and the .WAD won't open on GCFscape

but well, it is a good app

GCFscape is for browsing steam game packages the WAD files in DOOM are different. And the .pat files look like midi insrument information. As far as I know there is nothing for opening those. What did you try to open it in?

EDIT: I updated the application. Try extracting again, it might help you.
