As the title says, share your favourite albums ever in this thread!

Agalloch - Ashes Against The Grain

There was contraversy surrounding this masterpiece. They had taken a hell of a change from their previous style, and I dare say, they did the right thing. This album is a hell of a masterpiece, and time just goes by without you noticing it because this album is so damn good. A true progressive masterpiece, and I love it so much...

Empyrium - Songs of Moors and Misty Fields

Empyriums second album. Their first set the standard, it was great. Not a masterpiece, but great. They changed their cheesy synth for more folk influence, and I still get "jawdrop" whenever I listen to this release. Nothing in this album is "thrown in", it all works. Everything is perfect. It is dark, majestic, and beautiful. There is no excuse not to own it.

Moonsorrow - Verisakeet

It seems all the albums I like are just when a band changes... This band became heavier, and got a MUCH bigger folk influence above the heaviest release they've ever done. This album still brings so many emotions in me. There are 5 songs, and my favourite is "Jotunheim" which clocks nearly 20 minutes. Utterly awe-inspiring.

Manegarm - Vargstenen

And again, the band changing streak continues! This band only gets better and better and better. With every release, they only get better. This album, is amazing. Unlike most bands, it has real violin. This adds to the atmosphere and the rawness of the recording, and it is point perfect. My favourite pagan metal release in history.

Summoning - Oath Bound

The streak continues. This band chose a completely new sound, and the change is mesmerising. This is a masterpiece, and each song is worthy of being the best song on the album because it is so balanced. It's based on Tolkiens work, which is awesome in itself, and the music is dramatic, emotional, and beautiful. And one song is in the orc language! ;D

God Is An Astronaut - God Is An Astronaut
& All Is Violent All Is Bright

These guys didn't change quite as much as the others. But these album are stunning. It is fully instrumental, no vocals to be heard, but it is just as emotional and awe inspiring as you can get. There is no excuse for anyone to not have at least listened to God Is An Astronaut. Both of these albums are amazing, and I can't choose between them.

Fairyland - Of Wars In Oshyria

Since this was their debut, I don't know if they changed or not. But believe me, I've never heard a cheesier band. Ever. Never ever. But the songwriting on this album is just amazing. The final song, "Of Wars In Oshyria", really gave this album a place in my favourites. It was stunning.

I tried to write a top 5 but I couldn't do it. :p

Lonesome Crow - The Scorpions

This album is really dark, depressing, coupled with some smokin' guitar soloing and some awesome basslines, as well as Klaus Meine's early vocal style, it has everything I love in songs. Action is probably my favorite song on it because of the awesome laid back vocals.

2. Scorpions - Blackout

This album was literally really close to being my first. I really like their older style better with Uli Roth, but this song has almost the percect mix of songs. Fast drums, heavy guitars, and lots of screaming.

Before this, the only song I listened to off that album was Siberian Khatru. I decided to give the rest a shot last night. I only managed to finish the title track, but it was awesome.

Personally, I consider Siberian Khatru to be the weakest track on the album. That shows how awesome this album is.

Helloween Keeper of the Seven Keys Part 1 & 2
Ok these a both separate albums, and part two is slightly better in my opinion but these shaped what is Power Metal, the godfather albums of Power Metal. Amazing

Helloween - The Dark Ride
Infreakincredible, I really still liked Helloween even with the huge line-up changes, but this one simply blew me away. It is almost perfect, and the long epic song made a resurgence in the album title song The Dark Ride. It's melodic, powerful, it's dark and extremely fun to listen to.

Blind Guardian - Imaginations from the Other Side
I wanted to pick Nightfall in Middle Earth because it's an amazing album to and helped shape the whole concept story behind albums with small voice acting recordings between songs but Imaginations for the Other Side is simply my personal favorite.

Arthemis - Back From the Heat
Super Cheesy and overly happy lyrics, never fail to lift my spirits. Happiest metal album I ever heard and I LOVE IT.

Dark Moor - Dark Moor
I simply needed to pick one and the self titled album is the only one I actually have in my possesion and I went pretty damn far just to get, sadly they barely have any power metal in my local music shop.

Dragonland - Astronomy
These guys are amazing and should get way more recognition. They started out with their two first albums which were overly cheesy generic power metal albums quite like Fairyland. But after those two albums, dear god when Starfall came out it was amazing but when Astronomy came out? Dear God, I was blown away, erratic yet masterful guitar and amazing melodic experience, with a little mixed in melodeath vocals, amazing!

Edguy - Vain Glory Opera
Tobias Samnet is incredible and this one is my favorite Edguy album.

Falconer - Among Beggars and Theives
Their heaviest album and it's simply majestic and powerful, Dreams and Pyres! Carnival of Disgust! Each song is amazing, probably in my top 5 best albums, maybe even number one.

Firewind - Forged by Fire
Gus G on guitar. Feast of the Savages a 4:21 minutes of Gus G playing guitar. That is all.

Gamma Ray - Powerplant
Kai Hansen is god.

Iced Earth - Something Wicked this Way Comes
One of the great American metal acts, and this is arguably their best album.

Kreator - Enemy of God
I needed to fit some thrash in there, and kreator fits in perfectly, I also really like Violent Revolution.

Primal Fear - 16.6 (Before the Devil Known you're Dead)
I came.

Stratovarius - Vision
Timo can put an infinite amount of emotion into his solos, and Jens can do the same.

Symphony X - The Odyssey
The 25 minute song alone is worth buying the album and the rest is simply aw inspiring as well.

Van Canto - Hero
Metal without guitars or bass. AND IT ****ING ROCKS, these guys have made a true metal experience with only their vocals and a drum. LISTEN TO IT NOW IF YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF A METAL FAN. Love it or hate I've had mixed reactions to it.

Kalmah - Groan of Wind
Needed some Death Metal in here, and Kalmah is always amazing but this one has always particular drawed me in, fierce, powerful and melodic. Among these best of the melodeath, surprisingly pulled it off amazing with having any clean vocals.

But I could seriously go on and on, so I decided to stay near my preferred genre and the big names and a few others because they are simply close to it while holding their roots.
