These games were without a doubt two of the best platformers for the PSX. Why do all the new companies who get these classics totally say F-you to the established gameplay, story, and character design and just decide to make half assed games. If there was anything I would want to see in gaming it would be to have some of these gaming classics put back into the hands of their original creators.

Because only Insomniac can do them justice. End of thread.

I've heard that only the first three Crash games were good. I'm not sure... I have all three of them, but I don't have a PSX memory card, and it's not like the PS2 can save the data itself, so I haven't actually gotten around to try them. I mean, I've played the first two before, but since I recently got all three of them, I haven't played them yet...
As for Spyro... Isn't it the same thing? The first three or so were good and then they all sucked? I have a Hero's Tail, and that kinda sucks...

All 4 Naughty Dog Crash Games were good as well as Twinsanity (The exception) and the GBA ones weren't bad because they played like the classic bonus levels.
Also: Yes, Spyro was great for the first three games and then it totally wnet downhill.

You mean it really fails. I can deal with Tail of the dragon fly, but after hero's tale, I was like:
"No, enough is enough, I'm all about new views and all, but this to much. You know, I quit. I'm sick of it!"
I have beaten all the spyro games 100% and want him in Brawl with Banjo, and it could happen since he's third party.

I love the first 3 Spyro games! They were so much fun! But the later ones... Hero's Tail was ok, Enter the Dragonfly smells and the GBA games were really hard. Are the new ones really bad, I'm not sure if I should try them?
As for Crash, I only played Warped and Crash Team Racing and they were pretty good too :)

Game Informer said the latest explains why purple dragons are assoiated with crack, but elijah wood voices Spyro so it's got voice talent.

Okay here is what happened: Crash was owned by Naughty Dog for Crash 1, Crash 2, Crash 3, and Crash Team Racing (The best go-kart racer EVAR!!11!!11!). Then Naughty Dog decided that they were bored of the franchise and sold it. From then on, Traveler's Tale's and Vicarious Visions (currently owned by Universal) made all the following games.
On the Spyro side: Insominac made the first 3 games, then got bored of the series (sound familar?) then the games were made by many many many developers. Eventually Spyro become part of the Vicarious Visions family (see above), thus allowing the crossover GBA titles. So blame Vicarious Visions, or the original companies for the downfall.
I admit I play Crash and Spyro games every once in a while for nostalgic reasons.

Seriously? Oh, come on! I have Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex (which actually feels like what Koopaboy just mentioned,) and Spyro: Enter the Dragonly (which just fails considering your opinions... I've honestly never played ETD before xD)

Yeah, those were some great games; the only things that made the PSX decent. One of my friends had Warped and Year of the Dragon at their house, and they were both a blast to play.

New Spyro is pretty bad, I agree, though I think most people hate it for the wrong reasons. Being different from the originals doesn't make a game bad, being bad makes it bad.
Crash, on the other hand, is actually still pretty decent. He's had some not so good games, but the last two were pretty good. Radical Entertainment is currently bringing Crash in a different direction, and I can understand why some might be put off by it, but really, the games ain't bad. Sure, they could use improvements, but they're pretty enjoyable for what they are.

That was because it was an almost exact copy of Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, the best Crash Bandicoot Platformer.
I would like to tell you that a new Jak is being worked on, but depending on how well Uncharted 2 is received, Naughty Dog will work on an Uncharted 3 or Jak 4. Currently, Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier is being worked on by High Impact Games. It is being made for the PS2 and the PSP.

I hope you know that this is completely impossible. Every single title you have mentioned has come out on PSN, (with the exception of CTR which is out on the Euro PSN). Unfortunatly, the games can't be altrered in anyway, because Naughty Dog and Insomniac have sold the games away with no intention on working on them again. And their current developer is too lazy to do anything but rack in money.
Although I would love to see everything you said. Except on PSN. Where it belongs.
And Crash Twinsanity and Tag Team Racing were great games. Not great Crash Bandicoot games, but great games.

I am aware of that, I was just dreaming for a second there. Damn shame that Naughty Dog and Insomniac sold the games. Could've been pretty successful on the current-gen consoles.

It doesn't matter which system it's on. Honestly, titles that are released on PS3 and 360 together have no differences at all, save for controls and Trophies/Achievements (I prefer the latter). So, either way you couldn't go wrong. Unless, however, you only own like/own the PS3, which I'm sensing.
EDIT: Disregard the above latter, I just saw your Gamercard in your profile.

lol I own both a 360 and a PS3, but I have had so many problems with my 360s, that I gave up, save for the rare OMG must have game. But the reason why I said they would be on PS3 is because thats what Naughty Dog and Insomniac exclusively develop for. Crash (PS1) Jak and Daxter (PS2 and further on the PS3) and Uncharted (PS3). Spyro (PS1) Ratchet and Clank (PS2-PSP-PS3 with a whooping 8 titles available and one coming in the next couple of months). The only reason why Xbox versions were made because Traveller's Tales and Vicarious Visions ported them.

No, they were great until Insomniac sold Spyro. Then it was like the series was like the first Micheal Jackson: It died.

Thank you, I have seen my favorite childhood video game characters turn into people I would no longer hang out with.
Oh yeah and just to show how f***ed up the series got: the latest crash bandicoot game has you going around jumping on monsters to control them to fight enemies. That's not what crash does. Crash goes through 3D platforming levels where he spins, slides and jumps on enemies, then has a boss fight where he either: spins an enemy while he's down, spins him while he stops shooting fire at him, spins him when he stops shooting hurtful sound waves at him (my personal favorite), Coco flys a shooting spaceship at him, or crash spins him after he has shoots lasers at him.
Sorry that went long.
On to Spyro. Spyro can currently fly, and doesn't know any of him cool friends from the first couple of games. They got rid of the hard parts of Spyro. If the game is a 3D platformer, you can't make them fly, that gets rid of the platforming part. The point of Spyro was to try to glide from a high point to a slightly lower high point unlocking: Dragons, Talismans or Dragon Eggs. And they got rid of the side characters (besides Sparx)! The funniest line of video gaming had been: "I'm a fawn you dork!" for a very long time. That's what made Spyro good, the platforming and the characters you conversed with, or in Spyro 3, you played as (that was fun!!!).
