Woo!

I knew the backlit screen would be upgraded. Nintendo did it with the GBA SP, so it was obvious. Other than that, there aren't a whole lot of other details. Hopefully they'll upgrade the firmware and give us a Nintendo WFC compatible version of PictoChat :p

I dunno what to think about the "redesign" though. Sure, it's smaller... and it looks like an Apple product... but... ahh well. I was expecting too much anyway ;)

Y'know, it's kind of funny how just a few weeks ago Nintendo said "We have nothing to announce at this time" and nearly denied the redesign. Now we have pictures of it. Thank you, Nintendo. You sure know how to blindside us :p

...Great. Every time I buy a Nintendo system, not long after, the price goes down or there's a bundle. I buy two DS'es (Mom likes her Mario Kart) and blammo. Oy...:(

Damn Gold, you beat me to it. ^_^ Anyway, I personally think that it's pretty ugly.

Why they do this too soon??? Damn you Nintendo! :(

Isn't it...JAP only? (For now)

As most outstanding game accessories and systems tend to be.

This sucks. It's just like the GBA SP. They make a system, and a year and a half later come out with a "better" version. It looks pretty cool, and I know eventually I'll get it, but not for a while.

Okay, I think the backlight on the regular DS is fine, and I think the DS is pretty portable as it is. Now, if it had a control stick.......I may consider it.......though I highly doubt I'll care.

The DS doesn't need an analogue stick.

And oh-ho-ho! (http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/683/683783p1.html)

I think it's all kinda stupid. Nintendo's just wasting money making these new ones when they should be putting their money towards more interesting projects.

Seriously, if they add a WiFi Pictochat and a micro DS...

I'll get either a xbox 360 or a PS3

We all knew it was coming. So no Banjo DS methinks.

What makes me wonder is that Microsoft does not plan to compete against Nintendo, they only want to kick PSP and Ipod's ass...

I, for one, think Nintendo DS Lite looks very stylish. It looks far better than the current DS. It's sleek, simple white design reminds me of an iPod, but nonetheless I like it! Now... if only I could afford it...

They have the "enemy of my enemy is my friend" mentality.

If Microsoft help Nintendo put more strain on Sony in the handheld sector, then I'm guessing that will lead to them having an even harder time building up and supporting the PS3. (If the PSP "loses") PS3 is after all in direct competion with the Xbox 360 in home console field, I doubt Microsoft consider Nintendo a threat.

Bastards... I go out and buy one on launch day and now they do this to me!

Good point. After all, Nintendo and Microsoft both consider Sony as their main competition. Join up to squeeze Sony out of the picture (which I'm all for), and Nintendo and Microsoft can coexist happily like Nintendo and Sega once did.

Ahh. Sublime little dream :)

I'd prefer a mix of all 3, like the entire industry split 33% Nintendo, 33% Microsoft and 33% Sony.

I've come to the realisation that even though I favour Nintendo over the other two, if they get back on top they'll just find some new way to screw themselves and third parties over.

Microsoft on top will lead to waves of FPS, Sports and racing titles with the game aspect of the system playing second fiddle to its media capabilities.

Sony...well just look at where we are now. ;)

All of this, of course, IMO.
