View Full Version : Beware Of The Tulip!!!!!!!!

People on N-sider got a tulip today in the mail after getting on to Wi-Fi, and they say if you put it in your house, it won't go out of your house and someone lost Booker by planting it near the gate.

They may be lying, but maybe not. If you want to get rid of it, sell it to Nook!

IF YOU WANT TO BE ON WI-FI TODAY, FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR GAME, TURN YOUR DOWNLOADS OFF!!! THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT INFO, AND I DON'T WANT ANY OF YOUR GAMES RUINED!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the caps, but this is very important. It will say dear (blank) and the letter will say ABSOLOUTELY NOTHING!!!!!!!!!! Your game may be ruined if you open this letter.

UPDATE!!!!!! It turns out Nintendo wanted to give us something, but failed, because that's what they said!! Downloadable fixes are going through Wi-Fi, so all victims, don't wipe your games, because all data will be restored!

I don't really get it, but it sounds like an awful one. Are they trying to say that Animal Crossing became the Little Shop of Horrors?

A hacker hacked on to Wi-Fi and made a letter simalar to S. Iwata's letter. I haven't went on Wi-Fi yet today, (brother still hogging the DS) and I don't intend to now. Nintendo didn't do this, some freaking hacker did!!!!

So.....it's good that it wasn't made by Iwata, but it is bad that this plant just destroyed Booker! Man, that kind of sucks. a man-eating plant. Unless this is the next Pictoquest.....

It happened on the PSP, I believe. Trojans, or soemthing of the like.

Believe me, if they are experinced enough, anyone can hack into WiFi.

I'm on WiFi right now, and I truly believe that this is a giant rumor, a fake one at that.

I can't believe someone would try to scare everyone... Unbelieveable....

(PS. I think I just said the word "believe" five times in that post. :D)

Uhh, make that 6.

When I heard that, I was like, "Audrey II came back!: Thank God it's just fake (according to DB and the belives......)

It's been an hour since I logged off of WiFi. No letter in the mail [that isn't from the Snowman]

Well, either Nintendo stopped it, or you got lucky.

It is definitely NOT fake, unfortunately. I got that weird blank letter earlier today before I knew anything about it, put the Tulip present in my house, and saved. I thought that it had merely disappeared when I put it down, but now there is a space in my house that I can't put any furniture in.

I'm wondering if Nintendo will send out a download through Wi-Fi that can fix this.

Uh-oh.....

GET THE WEED WHACKER!

I'm quite lucky that I did not get Animal Crossing yet. I just hope that you all that are infected get it cleared up.

Wow... you sure showed me :D

Well, I believe that if, it were a hacker, Nintendo would give something to remove it.... *shrugs*

Why must people do this kind of stuff anyway?

I know of a way to fix the Tulip problem with using a AC:WW map editor. The things you'll need is a Action Replay Duo, and a PC. The program is located here (http://www.aibohack.com/nds/ac_mapedit.htm).

Yeah, Reggie said he'd handle it. (DB, look at all the topics in N-sider.....) I believe he did. I hope the hacker gets tried.

I already knew that, it's just that

I don't have AR and I don't plan to (Messes up crap)
I've seen that thing in action (Prankers got punished at GameFAQS: I would be surprised if BKSonic didn't notice it. The guy would drop a bugged metroid, leave their town, and the gate would turn in to a museum!!!)

BTW, DB, you have to visit someone's town/someone has to visit your town, or the downloads have to be on before the letter comes. It may've been released and only Wi-Fiers on that day would get it.

Because they want our lives to be miserable.

Because they want our lives to be miserable. My name was mentioned on a thread I never posted in? Wow! Anyways, I was on Wifi last night, and I still haven't gotten any letter with a tulip in it.

Well, then that's a good thing. Also, I havn't recieved it. My advice, be extremley careful who you let into your town. If a stranger enters, immediatley do 'Party's over'. If they're still there, turn off your DS. You lose all the progress you did and get resetti, but your town will thank you, and so will your wallet for not having to buy a new copy of the game and/or an action replay.

Just a reminder.... No "stranger" can just waltz into your town.

The only way that could happen is if you are in someone elses town, and someone on their friend list that you don't know of comes in. But, you shouldn't care, since its not your town anyway. :p

EDIT: This (http://www.4colorrebellion.com/archives/2006/01/26/warning-serious-acww-glitch/) should provide enough information about it. Includes a link to GameFaqs on the subject and a video of the "Red Tulips" in action inside your house.

Well, at least we can rest easy knowing it wasn't real hacker, and it's fixable. I'm also glad that a fix is on the way.

BTW, I told my friend about this, and he wanted me to visit his town hoping he could get them.
