Today I was at sort of garage sale. And I found a black nintendo 64 controller, in excellent condition (only slightly used), and still in its original box. I bought it for $10. Do you guys think that is a good deal? I did. Infact, I heard that the solid black controller is the rarest of all the 'standard' solid & translucent controllers (not including special editions like the orange, gold, and pikachu versions). Plus, I needed a new n64 controller anyways. So, did I get a fair deal, was it worth more than I paid for, or was I ripped off? Just would like your opinions. :)

I think it's worth more, actually. I used to have one, but it suffered through abuse and I put it out of it's misery by taking it apart.

Seems about right. They tend to go from $13 used to over $30 new by the looks of it.

You can easily get 64 controllers for a lot cheaper, but these ones are abused, dusty, and/or analog stick doesn't recenter properly. I'd say a good buy.

Also your lucky. I went garage sale shopping today and didn't see a single thing video game related.

Sounds about normal really, possibly bordering on being a good deal (there are those people out there who'll pay a lot more for boxes).

Yeah, they're extremely hard to come by. Even more so than the other controllers (except yellow maybe). Which is why I snatched up the opportunity to buy it immediatley.

My consensus exactly, I recently got two N64 controllers, one with a Memory pack and another with a rumble pack for £1.50, and one of them was solid black.

I used to have this habit of switching all the half-sides of my controllers....(i.e. atomic purple top half, with red bottom half/vice-versa, and black controller top with grey controller bottom/vice-versa).
Always made my friends wonder where I got my controllers...

I think 10 bucks isn't a bad deal for a controller of great quality, especially if it still has the box. I've paid less, but whatever. =D

I'd say that's a pretty good deal.

Hrmm, I always thought they were quite common. I personally have 4 of em. So did several of my friends. I don't know if they still do tho.
