I stumbled across this post.

I wish he would be willing to dump it though :(
Never ever heard anything about this.

I was just about to post this.
Well, at least he says he's probably gonna sell it someday. Maybe we can do a community dump.

What the flipping fidoodle? How has this not been discovered or mentioned before? Huh, I guess there are things that actually do get past people these days.

He has the only Jet Force Gemini GB pack in the world, and he refuses to dump it?
Idiot.

How do you even dump a game?

With these cartridges based consoles you can use a backup device. The gameboy had the GB Xchanger.
This unit was designed for the backing up of Game Boy and Game Boy Color games. It was also used to write said backups onto a flash cartridge for use on the consoles in question. The unit was designed with a Game Boy-specific slot on the top of the unit and took 6 AAA batteries or a 9V adapter for power, and it connected to a PC via a parallel port.

Dumping is making an emulator of a game.
Let's get donations in now, we can save up and buy it when he does sell it.

That is if he wants to sell it, I mean, yea, he's said he'd sell it, but let's be realistic here, if I was sitting on a one of a kind game and I was a big enough jerk to say I probably wouldn't even play it and that it wasn't my type of game, I could easily see myself being douchey enough to just let it sit there in my GB collection.

He doesn't seem like he's THAT big of an asshole. If he knew there was a community of hundreds of desperate fanboys wanting to make an emulator of this game, he might sell or dump it.

I think you should learn not to double post.
Also, I've been thinking, he does have a point. If I had the only copy of a game in the whole world, even a crappy one, it'd be pretty special to me and I probably wouldn't share it. Or maybe it's a practical joke by someone who works at Rare. If it is real, it would be cool of the guy to at least post a video so we could see how it plays. Whoever got the only copy of Twelve Tales a couple months back should have done the same, if you ask me.

lol guys I've got this gbc cart of Banjo Tooie, does anyone know anything about this I can't find anything, oh by the way it's really rare, here's a few suspiciously familiar screenshots of gameplay, lol btw it's really rare and its not really my type of game you know i don't really like to play uber rare games based on hit classics so im just gonna sell it to intersted partys for moneylol, why would i share my finding with the rest of the world oh btw ive got nothing to hide lol.
did i mention how rare it is?
Basically what I just read it as, then again, stay optimistic! Never know what might come of this!

My guess is that this is just a ROM hack, why does he have his GBC wired up all funny otherwise?

Does look like perfect dark for the game boy indeed.
Wonder for how much he got it and where and from who and how, and for how much he wants to sell it.

Has anyone noticed how often he posts, and how he's so quick to call someone on their accusations or pleads, yet he doesn't post a pic of the cartridge?

1) No accusations were posted in that thread.
2) I can understand how he wouldn't want to dump the image; considering it will significantly lower the cartridge value.
3) What will posting pics of the cartridge prove? I'd think actual pics of the game would be more convincing.
4) There also happens to be proof (http://www.mobygames.com/developer/sheet/view/developerId,231544/) that this game was in development for GBC.

That would be the Gameboy Color Emulator. He's using a special GBC which requires being powered through the "funny wiring(connected to port 2)". If he was transferring an image from his computer, the GBC would also be connected to port 1.
This is the Color Game Boy Emulator from Intelligent Systems (the company that makes most of Nintendo's official devlopment hardware). If you go to their website (it's in Japanese) you can see the current versions of this type of hardware for the Nintendo DS, Gamecube, GBA and this GBC unit.
It connects to a computer via a SCSI interface and comes with software to code games and then transfer the game image to a Game Boy connected to the Emulator.
Here's a close-up of the cartridge interface. I believe you can use a normal Game Boy Color with this, but I'm not sure. (The white plug I think just provides power to the special Game Boy that came with the system.)

So either, and let's be honest, he's being a dick and bluffing about this or he's eing a dick and trying to make cash out of something most of us would readily release to the public for free.

You're right, there weren't any accusations, my bad.
However, there were quite a few requests for pictures, which, besides a few pics of gameplay, there's very little proof that this game physically exists.
As for the emulator connections, when you yank a cart from a Game Boy, the last image it had stays on the screen, could I assume that if you yank a connector from a Game Boy, similar events would ensue?

I'm not arguing that a physical copy exists. As you mentioned, there's little proof. He at least offered some pics of gameplay, which is better than nothing. Though, if he wants more solid evidence, I think a video would be more convincing.

I tested this on my GBC with Kirby's Dreamland 1 & 2. Neither retained an image when pulled from the cartridge slot. Does this only apply to certain games or cartridge types(If so, which ones?)?
So either, and let's be honest, he's being a dick and bluffing about this or he's eing a dick and trying to make cash out of something most of us would readily release to the public for free.
Bluffing, that's possible. Being a dick for not dumping this at no charge? How many people have dumped a proto for free(community dumps don't count)? Would you be willing to dump a cart that was worth a fair amount of money and you had no interest in? Probably not.

Call me crazy but if I showed it to the internetz and people asked for a dump I would gladly share it with public domain. That's just me though I'm sure it's a lot more thoughtful to sell it off.
