Id say so, but theres isnt many characters for the series but if its is based on an attack on Galatic federation HQ, it could work.
as for the actress to play samus, Ive always thought of Uma Therman fitting the character well?
whats your opinions?
Edit: damnit can someone move this to the Nintendo area -_- being tired sucks XD!

Didn't IGN have an article about the casting for a possible Metroid moveie?

If it did become a movie, it would be a kick-ass movie (or it better be).

I love the idea of a Metroid movie, but NOT with Uma Therman. I wasn't a fan of her in any movie I've seen her in.

Who was that chick that played the Termanatrix? She looks like she would fit the bill.

The problem with Metroid as a movie is that the games are meant to make you feel very lonely, so there's not much character interaction nor do you see or hear much from Samus. This can't make a good movie.
So what happens is they add that kind of stuff in. They give Samus a personality, they add characters, a goofy plot, maybe a Hollywood cliche love story... it just goes down the sh!tter.
Everyone has their own idea of what a Metroid, or any game movie, should be like... so there's not going to be any pleasing anyone. And since Hollywood is so out of touch anyway, and most movies are becoming increasingly unappealing, a game movie will be even more terrible.
I don't know why there's a fascination with games being movies anyway. It's been proven over and over again that they suck. The conversions are never going to work.

I think that I read in a Nintendo Power that the rights to the Metroid Movie were picked up. Anyway, I agree with what Gold said, that Metroid just doesn't fit a movie's form. Although, the Halo movie... :icy

I loved the first Resident Evil. :x.

Fixed, although I will agree that most other game based screenplays are chaff, with only a few exceptions. I do agree with Andre, however, that the Halo movie will do well, if only based on the team that's already working on it.

Yeah, that's true. Halo would be one good exception since the games were pretty much written like a movie. The elements are there, so... in theory... there wouldn't have to be much done to make it "movie"-ish. Whether or not it's untouched, I guess we'll see :)
What I'd like to see is a collaboration between Bungie and a movie studio, where the movie actually is a part of the series, rather than a dumbed down "re-telling". Unless that's the plan...? I think that would be fantastic, though.

Did I hear correct that Peter Jackson would be in some way involved with the Halo movie? If that's true, and considering Jackson's track-record, we might be in for a treat! :approve:

Kristanna Loken.
Yes she'd do fine, as when you finish the movie, i bet she wouldn't mind wearing a bikini -like when you beat the game quick-, since shes in the nud in T3.
Also she looks a bit like the Retro Studios Concept art pictures that can be unlocked in Prime.

A Halo movie would be good.
Movie->Game and Game->Movie usually aren't as good as when they were in their own section of entertainment. With a few exceptions, like Resident Evil and King Kong.

I believe that Jackson will be producing the movie, not directing. It's too bad, but for him to sign on to this movie? That's a great sign.

With the exception of slaher films, really the main characters all have to talk. There isn't really a speaking main character. I really can't imagine a movie with just one character walking around without speech and blasting things.
Gold is right. They would make her speak, add some new characters, and it wouldn't be the same.

It would ruin all that makes Metroid great.

I wouldn't mind.
Hell, it'd at least have a plot. Unlike DOOM.

Yes, and it was a hoax.
And I have some good expectations for the Halo production now, primarily fueled by my admiration of PJ. (Even though he won't actually have much to do with it...still!111one!)
