View Full Version : Being the Center of Attention

I hate being the center of attention with people I hardly know. This always happens to me in my computers class. We're working with Flash, and I did a little animation of a commercial for Ketchup Toothpaste with Jesus.

Today, a whole group of kids gathered 'round my computer saying stuff like "PLAY IT C'MON MAN!!"

Then when I do, more people came and said "HEY PLAY IT AGAIN!!!"

Ugh, it bothers me so.

Do you guys like being the center of attention with complete strangers? Sure, with friends it's all good.

Being the Center of Attention -> Become a Fan!

Seriously, I'm embarrassed to be the center of attention.

I don't mind being the centre of attention, just as long as my material is good.

I live off of the attention given to me by others :P

Not ALL the time, but I don't mind it :D

I would be lieing if I said I didn't like it, but I don't try to be the center of attention.

What I find having the centre of attention scary. I loose track of what I'm saying.

I hope I was the center of the attention for that. I used to when I was in 7th grade or something but now, I look like a super virgin for animating and kicking ass at Java class. No one gives a **** and they are making out with the next boy/girl.

Though talking about myself is one of my fav subjects (I wish I could help that, really). I'm definately not a guy who wants to be in the center with the spotlights on him.

I just want credit were credit is due (if relevant).

I wouldn't mind as much in a group of people I know though.

I don't mind being in the centre of attention so long as it's people I know that are giving the attention in the first place, otherwise I become irrationally embarrassed. For some reason I'm bad at accepting complements lol

I'm relatively indifferent to it, but by choice I'd just submit myself a bit.

I don't talk to strangers. Around here people seem to keep to themselves if they don't already know you or are forced to get to know you (I.E. you get a new class with new people, you pretty much have to converse), but when I'm with my real friends, we are all attention junkies for each other.

I don't like it no matter who's giving attention.

I like being the center of attention sometimes, but not with strangers. :p

Depends what the attention is for.

If I just sang a solo and people loved it, then I generally love the attention.

If I screw up badly, I'd rather them leave me alone.

Hate it, I get nervous, stutter my words and say sentences that don't make sense or feel complete. If it's one or two people, I'm still slightly awkward (eyes darting across the room to avoid contact) but I can muster up a sentence.

I haven't been the centre of attention for a while now since I changed schools. :P
I really like it when it's with friends, doesn't really happen often even that way. Oh well.

If they're complete strangers, well, it still depends.

If it's like, little kids, fine.

Kids my age, they're alright, as long as none of them are clear assholes.

Adults it gets kind of weird.

I'm an attention seeking whore, but you've all already guessed that.

I don't care.
I'm very extrovert and cynical so I'm used to be the center of attention from time to time.
+ it's good for my ego!

What's weird with me is that if I give a speech or something prepared, I'm nervous. Usually if I do something that isn't already written and I'm just spewing some bs or winging it I feel fine.

Then I'm a caterpillar that fell off his leaf to the ground and landed in a puddle, but was too comforted by the puddle to leave it.

I'm so used to being amongst a crowd and getting the center of attention because of the fact that I perform constantly (sax, drumline, etc.). Sooo I guess I don't really mind! Plus, I'm pretty social to start with anyways! :P

We use to play Quake in law class, and all I ever use to do back then was play Doom, Quake competitively so I was WAY better then everyone, and i could pick out people from across the map with the rail gun, people would surround my computer like "WOAH DUDE HOW DID YOU SEE HIM DOODE" Because i never used the zoom function in the game. Shit was cool just sucked.

I actually enjoy being the center of attention when I am doing a presentation or know what I am talking about.

I am the exact same way when I am in a situation like yours though. One thing that really bothers me is when you come up with a joke (or do something funny), and people ask you to repeat it over and over again. It usually happens to me on something that wasn't that funny in the first place, but everyone else continually wants to hear it for some reason.
