Ugh, when they made the karate kid black I thought "no big deal, his race isn't pivotal to the role." Now that I know it is only because Will Smith is black and thus all of a sudden the race is important, but for an entirely different set of reasons.... well...

Hey. Don't be so negative guys. So a black guy wants to redo a good franchise. At least it's not Tyler Perry. Looking forward to it. I've never seen a Will Smith movie that was a total failure.

Frsrs? You didn't like Pursuit of Happiness, I Am Legend, either Men in Black, or Seven Pounds? Whoa. That's pretty surreal.

I probably won't end up watching this.

Hancock was decent too.

Indeed it was. The only Will movie I can understand not liking is Wild Wild West...even though I like that one too.

I guess I, Robot and I Am Legend would suck if you read the books first being that they were so different, but I find them both fairly enjoyable. My favorite Will movie is Pursuit of Happiness.

Mr. Miyagi will breakdance and sing "Just the Two of Us" to the Karate Kid.

Now this is a story...

Will Smith is making this movie to give his son the lead role.
It has nothing to do with the original series, nor the spin-off, in fact, I see it as a parody, since it's actually called the Kung-Fu Kid everywhere besides America.

And don't shit on Wild Wild West, that movie's awesome!

I don't think I've ever seen a good Will Smith film...how odd
I'm sorry Danny, but this is the worst post ever to be posted anywhere.

That's because the kid is taught Kung-Fu instead of Karate like in the original film. Technically this is a "remake", it has basically the same story line, just takes place in a different part of the world with different actors and stuff.

I think it's going to be great, but people are going to make a big deal over the little things (like how the main character is black because Will Smith is black, or how he's taught kung-fu instead of karate), which they really shouldn't do.

This is a little off topic, but this movie really reminds me of that one scene from the Punch Out games where Doc Louis is riding a bike and Little Mac is wearing a pink hoodie as he follows him. No clue why.

I look forward to this, and this is from someone who didn't like the original a whole lot.

The post-credits singer will feature Joe Esposito and Will Smith in a duet merging "Getting Jiggy wit' It" and "You're the Best" into "You're Getting Jiggy wit' the Best".

This.

The best part is that the "history repeats itself" line would actually make sense this time around!

If Will Smith raps again I don't care how bad of a combo that is, it's got Will Smith rapping in it. So it's good. End of story.
