A native Australian was offended by the Aboriginal article on ED and Google agreed to remove the link from search results.
Now the owner of ED is being charged.
If you run a few searches in Google you can get more info... I can't find a solid news article about this anymore. :-/

Apparently it's only removed in Australia, I still get the link.
Also ED thinks it was a buthurt member

I still get it too, I don't really understand why they removed it off google though, you can just use another search engine, or dare I say it.. save the weblink o-O

Three questions:
1.) How did Google fail to understand the context of ED?
2.) So, was it like on the the first page of google?
3.) Did this guy like get a computer from his benefits and the first thing he searched for was his race?
This article was seen by Google crybabies and now has a PageRank of 0 out of 10.
Lulz.

A quick search on ED itself reveals the site.
And nothing was achieved.

This was a Streisand effect, it resulted in more pageviews than if it hadn't have been removed/reported.

The link to the Aboriginal page was removed, not the site.
I have time to say a bit more stuff now, I was in a rush this morning.
The native Australian guy demanded the Article on ED was removed, not the site. And the owner of ED refused. The article was apparently extremely racist and discriminating etc. and was breaking Australian laws...
EDIT: Ok the guy who reported it WAS a butthurt member CJ, it was confirmed. He got banned after some vandalism (lolwut :P) and got pissed.

I don't see why Australian laws have any bearing on ED. It's run by an American, in America.

It doesn't have any bearing, hence why it's still up. I don't believe it should be taken down anyway. I'm sick of the pussies in this country getting butthurt when it's them getting insulted and not someone else.

Guys on the discussion page for the article someone said this:
It's not racist if we do it to every race, right??
He has a good point, it's not discrimination is you bag them all.

Don't worry about it, I'm sure Michael Atkinson will be voted out tomorrow. There's one huge step away from censorship.

This is such a shame, I've always wanted to go to Australia to live for a bit, but this makes it seem very unappealing. Is it true about aborigines sitting on the dole, in a government provided house, and spending it all on alcohol?

I can't really say for sure, since I live in a town where there are virtually no Aboriginals and the majority of Aboriginals that DO live in my town board at my school. Internet censorship really shouldn't stop you from living in a country for a few years; I for one haven't been affected at all by whatever shenanigans are going on in Canberra :D

The internet censorship hasn't been implimented yet.

Guess.
I don't mean like actually believing bollocks from ED, but when my dad went there he said he'd heard of some of these issues. There could simply be some truth in most ED articles.

It is true, I have heard stories from when my friend was little, he went to Central Australia and there were some crazy aborigines coming up to the car knocking the window for alcohol.
Australia is a great country, the internet censorship crap is a bunch of shit and all the stupid stories you here are from way out in whoop-whoop where no-one goes...
