Alright, I am not romantically involved with this girl, I just know her and we are friends.


I know this girl through msn, she is only 14. She is pretty religions and conservative. Anyway, sometime last week she "met this person" and has "fallen in love". She is 14 and he is 18. She lives in Costa Rica and he lives in Washington.

Now, only the other night when we were talking (this was last week), she said cybering was wrong and she'd never do it. Well, the day after she was cybering all day and wouldn't talk to anyone.
Now that is apparently all she does.

Anyway, I feel a genuine concern for her, because I know that nothing good can come from cybering with someone five years your senior who lives in another hemisphere...

I wouldn't say that long-distance relationships can never work. I think that they can provided both people put enough effort in.

But what she's doing, that's not really a relationship. I would say it can't hurt if she doesn't expect much else out of it but the fact that she's so young is just disgusting, and it could be quite harmful. Nothing much you can do if you only know her online other than warning her though.

I know this person over msn, I've known her for a year. Almost more then a year I think. Anyway, she decided to play an april fools joke on me.

She is pretty religious and is young, not even legal to drive.

Anyway, she started talking about how she would never cyber or do anything "wrong". well, apparently last week she met this guy and started to cyber with him. This is part of the joke.

I was truly her friend, and I honest to god cared for her, warning her that things like that are wrong (cyber sex IS wrong), they never work out, and she is just going to have bad things happen to her. The "guy" she met was 18 by the way.

Anyway, she told me she is getting married. This is getting out of hand now. I truly care for her, kind of like a big brother, I try to tell her it is wrong, but then she suddenly pulls the APRIL FOOLS!!! HAHA!

Well, her reasoning for this is that she tested our friendship. What friendship? Where I come from, friends don't lie to their friends, friends CARE about what their friends think, and most importantly, they don't need to test their friends.

I admit that insults were thrown, mainly after she said APRIL FOOLS!

But I'm sorry that you had to break this friendship. You lied to me for over a year about being my friend. Apparently where you come from, friends don't look out for friends, or care about their friends.

Fact is there's not a lot you can do. Since you say you know her through MSN, I assume you don't know her personally, so she's not particularly inclined to listen to you if you tell her to stop speaking to someone else on MSN. The best you can do is try to appeal to her conservative side or something, or make sure she knows she's contradicting herself. Tell her gawd and Jesus will hate her for it.
