After starting on a Banjo game I soon felt like I wanted to do it on another universe and I also did not want to build another jump and run or hack and slash. I would rather make a Pinata based game. I can't tell you much but it's a puzzle adventure and will feature the Ruffians as maincharacters. The story will follow soon. Here is a first glimpse via Youtube!

It's not much but I hope you like the start...a lot must happen though but I am confident dat Smouvy, Lemurboy and I will fix whatever is needed to build a betaversion. After that we'll see. Hopefully some other skilled people will join us.

The Ruffian graphic looks like something you would see in a DS game, can't wait to see more

I did it different than Spyke. Spyk's way is more flexible but if you use the Paint 'n Ink function you can get far. What I did in the first 'Banjo' version is make a model and then map it with Paint 'm Ink. I did use lines in that one. But afterwards I noticed that when rescaled to a model at 100x100 pixels the black inklines did not matter to much. They messed more up than necessary. So with the Ruffian I used Inkt 'n Paint but without outlines. Used lots of dept in the colors and then exported the video to Photoshop. (per view, front, back, front, attack etc)

In photoshop I deleted the white at a Full HD resolution. I retouched where necessary and then added the shadow. Then the outline in black and after that a rescale to 100x100 pixels. Now comes the part that really sucks...maybe somebody can help.

I already did a white erase per frame. So that 60x retouching and deleting per sprite. Then, if I want to save as PNG (Because it has better quality) I needed to 'Save for Web' -> PNG -> Save as....Left1.png. and that 60 times. (and than factor UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, ATTACK, ATTACK DOWN, ATTACK UP)

Much better than my shoddy paint.net, it sounds like you put some honest effort into this  Good job, man!

Gotcha. Is 3D Max and 3DS Max the same thing, because I might try it out. I'm used to Blitz3D and 3D Gamestudio.

It looks superb, Lupaie. Well done. And looks like it plays nicely, too.

thanks guys, I need another grafic artist though. I have a list of things that need modelling, photoshopping or illustrating. Doing it all by myself would take ages. Which is fine and all but I'd rather have it finished sooner than later.

The graficstyle is a mix between a Viva Pinata game and Mario Paper with a little bit of Castle Crashers mixed into it. What I need?
- 2 Pinata birds (only viewing/moving from left side, so no need to create a front/back)
- Profitamole + Hole crack open animation (that's what happens if Ruffian stays too long on 1 location) (front only)
- 3 trees (Palm, Oak and Blueberry) (front only) (for background)
- Helpers House (for background)
- Fences an ports (front and side)
- 3 nice looking not too large plants (key item)
- 1 Dandelion (left)
- Barkbark (all sides)
- Syropent (all sides)
- 2 types of stone
- water
- grass

Most I will do myself. I could do most of the modeling and rendering. But if someone could help me with the large amount of photoshopping after that. Or if someone wants to model with me...then please, your welcome in the team.

Wow Lupaie, fantastic. The graphics blend really well with VP. But one thing, the camera should scroll sooner, because you can't see where you're going when you are walking to the right. But other than that, it's great.

I know...Thing is that I want the level to switch/slide when the player nears the border...like in the Zelda NES.

Just three more days till I can start doing some 3D for the project. Time seems to be going slower now that I'm waiting.

Woah, Nice. What language did you program this in? C++?

Is there anybody that can help me out with some Gamemaker questions or even help as a programmer?

The team is very small, I want to keep it that way:
Design/Gameplay: Lupaie
Music: Smouvy
Programming: Lupaie + SOMEBODY??

I can give you a hand with programming, PM me questions or I could help directly.

I could try some programming here as well. Doing up some Gamemaker skills wouldn't hurt anyways.

Which version of GameMaker are you using?

Note: I'm not a pro-programmer at all; mediocre at most.
