There is a neat little site that checks how complient your web browser is with display standards and various other things. It's also interesting to note that in the tests Internet Explorer 8 fails with a 20/100 when you'd think since it's the most popular browser, it would also be the one that's most complient with website display standards. The latest version of Safari for mac gets a 100 so it's not a google promoted site. I have Windows and Internet Explorer 8 and IE8 seems to not do very well on the tests at all.
