Mother 3 / Earthbound 2

Don't you think more people would have heard about Mother 3?

I didn't know they were going to release this at all. I remembered playing mother 2/SNES Earthbound, it was the most crazy game ever. The graphics can suck most of the time, but the game managed to intrigue me somehow. It contains a lot of imagination and is something new compared to the normal RPG's. I remembered playing the first Mother game as well.

I cant believe they haven't improved the battle system, those clashes of colors give me a headache and can cause seizures. I hope Ness is in it, he was my favorite character for the first two games.

So is this a totally new game, or is it the one that has 1+2 on it? I don't really care for a new one much, I just want to play 1+2 so freakin much!

Soulreaper: Heh, you must be the first Earthbound fan who doesn't care about a sequel :p If you want to play 1+2 that badly, then your only choice is to import the japanese cartridge (so you give money to the producers) and then emulate the original nes and Snes versions. Because there's no chance this game is ever getting translated (neither official or fan-made).

I don't care for a sequel 'cause I never really got to play the first one, but from what I played on the emulator version, I loved it. So if they released it again, then I would be able to finally play it. The same effect goes for Banjo-Threeie, I'm just starting to play Tooie, so I have plenty of Banjo to get me satisfied for now. And I don't want to buy it for the SNES because it is to expensive and my SNES is acting up right now. Nintendo is getting hit with very many requests for that game though, so they might do it, if we get lucky. I mean, we whined about Fire Emblem so much that they finally gave it to us, so why wouldn't this happen for Mother 1+2?

Because Mother 1+2 was released for GBA in the begining of its life span, and now the GBA is technically died, that's why. If it didn't get translated back then, it won't get anymore.

But don't worry, because the Mother series is just like Final Fantasy, it doesn't have direct sequels. Myself, I only got halfway through Mother1/Earthbound Zero. I think I reached the 4th sanctuary. Then I got bored and stopped playing, because even though the world/towns and some of the characters are the same in both games, they don't relate in any way. Just like Cid appears in every Final Fantasy, but he is a different guy in each one.

I beat Mother 2/Earthbound, and I found amazing how an ugly and dated game (even for its time) could be so darn fun. It's a rare case of a game that relied only on creativity. I suggest that you emulate it, and then buy Mother3/Earthbound 2.

I bought my copy of Earthbound. It was second-hand so I didn't get the awesome and inaccurate players guide with it...

The stories do connect, but so far the only for sure connection is Giegue. (renamed Giygas in the US)

Of course there are millions of theories that involve Ninten being Ness's dad...

About Giygas rebirth... I though that the first time it was killed happent much, much time ago. I think the pyramids in Arahbia(something like that, can't recall the name) were made to counter-attack the alien invasion or something, back in the first time the Aliens came to earth. Or maybe I'm just making that stuff, it's been a lot of time since I beat Earthbound ;)
