'Cuz I bought it about two hours ago. Big honkin' volume, all seven books, twenty bucks.

I'm not in it for the Christian moralizing, but the more I learn about Lewis, the more fascinating a guy he seems.

Anything I should look forward to?

I've read some of them. Pretty good.

Yeah they're good stuff. Once you've read the first few, be sure to check out the films.

I saw the first film a while ago, actually.

I remember thinking it was pretty decent, but can't recall anything specific about it.

It's interesting I guess. Relies on Deus ex Machina a little too much in my opinion.

"Deeper magic" my ass.

Saw the first movie time ago, it was "meh" at best. Don't really know about the books.

The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe also bothered because of some blatant sexism in the book (I don't really remember if it was in the movie), but that's an argument for another time.

A bloody good book series..

Though I recommend you read them in publishing order
Lion
Caspian
Voyage
Chair
Horse
Magician's
Battle

Make more sense in that order

That and I am frothing at the mouth to see the new movie.
Seriously
This series is fantasy done right..

I read a few of them, and liked them, though Voyage of the Dawntreader was rather boring

I love them. They really take me back to my childhood. I've been reading them since I was little.

I REALLY want to re-read them now... But the last time I read them I didn't know how to say half the words.

Likewise with Harry Potter.

Very good and original pieces of work. I haven't finished them, but from what I read they're excellent.

I read them all years ago. I liked em, but nothing really stood out to me. Now, HP on the other hand has been re-read at least 6-7 times for each book :P.

IIRC the characters spent a lot of time talking in that book about the fact THAT THEY WERE ON A MOTHER ****ING BOAT.

Oh my god

I can see a remix when it comes out on DVD......

That one and The Magician's Nephew are actually my personal favorites.

I can't wait for The Magician's Nephew to be made into movie..

My least favorite would have to be either The Silver Chair or the one with the horse. I didn't like the last one at all.

The Horse and His Boy was kind of weird. It's been years since I read these books though so my memory isn't the most reliable.

Its like..

Oh hey, it is a story about the prince of a land we never know anything about, a horse, and a girl!

Seeing as it has no plot that ties into ANYTHING... Even the main characters from Lion and Caspian make a cameo. YOU SHOULDN'T NEED TO ADD A CAMEO TO A BOOK . . . . .

Anyway, if I re-read the books I will skip over it

I guess they're good. I like Lewis' other series more - like the Space Trilogy. That one is epic.

Last time I read them was ten years ago in the second grade, and I only got to the fourth book. They weren't too bad if I remember correctly, with Dawn Treader being my favorite.

Having read every book in the series, the only ones I liked were The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and A Horse and His Boy. The former because the plot was actually interesting, the latter because it had both an interesting plot AND interesting characters.

... Yeah. I REALLY don't like any of the characters of the Narnia series besides those in A Horse and His Boy. Especially because the main characters either never have any negative emotion or are total jerks. Note that the total jerks are always turned into Jesus v2.0's, just like every other main character already is.

However, the movies so far (I haven't seen the Dawn Treader yet so I can't judge it) actually managed to make it A LOT better. The characters actually seem more like real people instead of the second/third/fourth/fifth coming of Christ.

Read them with my mother at a very young age, remember only bits and pieces of each book.

Well, hey, the reaction seems to be very positive up in here.

I'll get to work on Narnia when I'm done with Good Omens, Discworld (not all of it, of course) and Kraken.

Granted, the CoN series was published back when sexism and racism was socially acceptable, so...

I just saw the third movie.. and it was "meh"

It didn't feel epic enough. Probably because the book wasn't epic.
Was the mist/fog even in the book? I don't recall. I know for a fact the witch isn't in this book.

I guess it felt bad because there were only like, ten total sets.. Silver Chair or Magician's Nephew will be so much better

Wasn't the Dawn Treader the one where

Edmund became a dragon?

That's one of my only recollections of the books.

It's actually Eustace that becomes a dragon, but yeah, that is in Dawn Treader.

Right, I heard about Calormen...

Then again, I think the author meant "Christianity is better than Islam", not "Arabs are teh stoopidz lol."

Not that that makes it any better but whatever.

I swear to god, if I'm ever in a position where I'm forced to go to church, I'm bringing The Chronicles of Mother*****ing Narnia. It's about the same as the Bible, except it doesn't have those annoying music cues.
