I've been trying to get WiFi connection on my Nintendo DS for the longest time, whenever I try and search for an access point, even when i'm at my computer desk on the internet, it claims that there is none. I use a Sprint DSL box with some NetGear thing. Is this why i'm unable to use WiFi, or am I Nintendo Retarted?

I don't know how to connect with NetGear or whatever that may be, but never feel like a retarded. (It took over 2 months for me to discover how to connect using 2wire)

There are some wireless routers that don't work well with Nintendo's WiFi Service and, there are some wireless routers that don't work at all and are not compatible.
Check Nintendo's WiFi website out and see if your router is on the list of recommended ones. Then you should call Nintendo's 1-800 phone number for help.

Depends. From where are you trying to connect? Copper, or the Settings page?
If you haven't already, you would have to go to the Connection Settings page, and get your game to recognize the connection to your specific router. If you haven't done so, you can't connect correctly.
You can find it on the page that appears just before starting Animal Crossing, the one just before the area where you choose the character to play as. Choose the last option to to show a new list. On that list, something around the lines of "WiFi Connection Setting" should be near the bottom. Click it. Then, keep going through instructions to get the connection established.
