I don't understand this thread? It's kinda VERY old news that animals are treated cruely in most mass produced food and pretty sure this video is a few years old? Not gunna stop me eating meat. Why would it?

Personally, I like the taste of poorly treated animals.

Gives them that 'morish' taste that Free Range stuff just doesn't provide.

If we weren't supposed to eat meat, why does it taste so good?

I just saw this now, and this is the most cruel video I've seen...Also I want to see how many people turn vegetarian
You guys seem to make something so cruel and inhumane into something somewhat comical......I want to be just like you guys.

To eat animals, they have to die. Do we wait for them to die of old age, where they will taste like shit and probably inedible for diesease, or do we kill them? We kill them.
If we were to kill each and every one of those chicks humanely, it would take stupid amounts of time, money and effort. Who can be arsed with it, seriously? Their death takes what, less than 5 seconds in that grinder?
Surely you knew these animals were being killed so you could eat them? Did you think the food was miraculously formed from giant company anus's? If so... you dum.

My grandfather owns meat processing plant, I went with him a couple of times with him to the slaughterhouse... it was quite the experience. I used to shed a tear or two when thinking about it, but I eventually became unaffected. I never harm animals tho.. unless I know I'm going to eat them.

that was the best part.
I liked the chick grinding machine too.

Why, dude? Just stop double posting and flooding the thread and let it chill. It really has no reason to be locked, we could get a discussion out of this.

While I can understand to an extent that, yes, we humans do often times treat animals more poorly than what they deserve, I hate it when people think we should stop eating meat completely. I honestly think animals like cows, chickens, pigs, ect. were put on the Earth to provide humans with food.

There is a reason man is at the top of the natural food chain (not counting decomposers, smart-ass). When a Lion attacks a zebra or a gazelle, does it consider the prey's pain or suffering? How about when a shark attacks a baby seal? Nope. I understand why people would want to become vegan after seeing this, but you NEED meat in your diet, no amount of protein supplements will change that. Sure they could treat the animals a little better, but that doesn't naturally happen.

Animals were always meant to eat each other from the very beginning.
This sums it up quite nicely. (http://www.progressiveboink.com/jon/images/calvinhobbes/jon7.GIF)

Desensitization plus humans over time equals a society that just doesn't give a ****

I have seen videos like that before. It is very sad that meat production companies condone such terrible conditions for animals, and I certainly hope the situation changes, but that does not deter me from eating meat. It just makes me more selective about where I get it from. When I have the money and I think about it, I buy organic and free-range meat. That's much better for your health anyway.
I shake my head at vegetarians who think they are doing the animals a service by not eating meat though. o-O

The way to solve the problem is not to stop eating meat, but to ensure that inhumane killing and treatment methods are not used. Though that might be very difficult to enforce.
You need meat in your diet. And if you don't eat the meat, it'll just go to waste and the animal that was killed will have died in vain.

Now to come in and say 'you don't need meat in your diet and in fact your health will improve through a strictly vegetarian diet' to which everyone else says 'lol nope herp derp you need meat cos how get protein lol bacon is good fo me'.
Not that I'm a vegetarian myself, but that is the lamest argument I've ever seen Spyke. Morally sensitive but weak.

I never said just eat bacon your health will improve 100% guaranteed vegetarians are wrong. I just said that you do need some meat in your diet. I personally have not tried a completely vegetarian or vegan diet, so I shouldn't really jump in like that.
I think the main point of what I said was just to try and say that not eating the meat won't make it stop.

Eating too much bacon specifically can kill you, I've heard. Bacon is extremely bad for you, but meats like lean chicken and turkey are good for a healthy diet.

I don't care what really happens, sure it's sad but becoming vegetarian or even boycotting meat won't do anything. Life sucks and we need meat for protein.

Exactly! Not eating meat won't help the animals already killed, and they're not gonna stop doing it if no people buy it, supermarkets already by all their dead animals and transform it into ground beef and when it expires stuff so I don't think much will change. :D

That video seems a bit on the overly dramatic side. I'm fairly sure not all animal farms/chains are like that. I mean, one moment they show you a dude killing cows with the standard gun to the neck then some guy going all WWFC on a cow. I was loling at that. Hard.
And the guy chasing chickens to beat them with a stick? Would that even cut costs? I mean, lol.
I was more concerned about the meat quality and hygiene. I don't want to eat the meat of a cow that lived with half of its intestines spilled on a Silent Hill-level dirty floor. There need to be regulations on the way animals and food is treated, if possible avoiding pain ofc. But I'm not going to lettuce-land sorry lol.
Also fishing would be like drowning the WWFC cow in water, so avoid fishes too. Let's eat ****ing air.
