View Full Version : Think the mods at the RWP are strict?

Take a look at this. (http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=210370) A few of my favorite examples...

If your thread is about a new strategy and you do not have a damn good analysis (with replays) (i.e. I think your thread is too theorycrafty), you can play against me in a best-of-three with your strategy. If you lose, you will be BANNED.
If you give unhelpful advice, you will be BANNED.
If your post pisses me off or is just inappropriate, you will be BANNED.
If I feel it sucks, it will be CLOSED.
If I watch your replay and there are obvious flaws (macro, micro, etc.) in your game that contribute to your loss, you will be BANNED

What forums, games, or otherwise have you seen with some entirely strict mods/rules?

*chans can be pretty strict, depending on the *chan.

The mods on here are non-threating kittens compared to that forum.

You get banned if you lose a game?

What.

The Pokemon Glitch Forum I used to be a regular at was run by an admin who absolutely despised people using poor grammar. When one guy refused to use better grammar, he "Burninated" (a type of warning that the forum used, warning that if you acted up again you would get banned) him. The guy's response: "FU!" Instantly banned.

Only the strictest punishment shall be made for those who do not win an argument or game. D:<

The mods here tend to be extremely laid back, and that's a good thing in most cases. But I wouldn't like a mod to be like a Catholic school nun. :P

Mods here are laid back and nice, but usually know when to put their foot down when necessary.

The mods were just right for like, 8 years, then there was not enough grey.

As for team liquid. what the ****.

I refuse to use that rainbow.

If you post a Minecraft redstone building idea, and you don't hava a good analysis, or your pictures suck, you will have to build it on the RWP server, and it must be fully functioning, with only one ingame day to gather resources and build. If you cannot do this after three attempts, you will be BANNED CALLED A HUMAN.

Who ever would think such nonsense?

If you cannot win Cave Story, in three tries, three times, without dying, with level one weapons, no super weapons, on hard, defeating Ballos' four forms ten times each playthrough, in 2 minutes, with 100%, and five missiles, without taking a hit, and playing IWBTG at the same time you will be BANNED.

This forum is for super machines ONLY.

The most stupid rule there is that you must with with your strategy otherwise you are banned. That's just :rainbow::bowrain:ing stupid.

How would he know it's your strategy if the whole reason you have to battle him is if you explain it poorly or it seems theoretical. On the other hand, he'd also have an advantage since he knows your strategy.

Exactly! Starcraft is all about outsmarting your opponent with counters and such. When you know what your opponent is doing, you just decimate them.

Makes the rule all the more stupid. o-O

Not only are those rules unnecessarily strict, they're straight up stupid.

Oh, and I never once have thought that the mods here are strict.

Some TF2 teams will go the extra mile to make sure they never lose. This is still retarded, though. People like him should be suspended from the internet.

(yes I'm perfectly aware that this is impossible, I'm just saying that's what SHOULD happen to him. And not forever, either.)

Facepunch Studios is pretty bad with outrageously strict rules. :3

This isn't a TF2 team, it's a Starcraft professional team. Even more strict than TF2 will ever be.

Decimate? Reducing them by 1/10 isn't that bad.

I kinda wanna challenge that mod to one of those games now... it'd be like Yu-Gi-Oh, except much, much more depressing.

The reason we have such strict moderation is we want people in this community to be self-sufficient, not dependent on others, and we want to keep discussion in the Strategy Forum at the highest level. That means quality guides, meaningful discussion about new builds and strategies, and asking for help only as a a last resort (but giving beneficial responses to any help threads). Being able to help yourself is key to becoming a better player, and it also, it reduces clutter in the Strategy Forum. Think about what your ideal Strategy Forum would look like. What would you rather see on the sidebar

... He's more retarded than I thought.

I think the person that beat IWBTG on Impossible could probably do that actually.

And really? Who here thinks the mods are strict? :D

You have obviously never tried beating the Sacred Grounds in Cave Story without the Nemesis or the Spur.

Two words. Polar Star. Granted I didn't win, but yeah. Did it for the hell of it, plus being able to tell people "I went into the Sacred Grounds with the Polar Star."
