I'm sorry, but the New Super Mario Brothers for the DS looks way to awesome. They sucessfully intergrated old and new elements into the game, with everything from a blue koops shell to a big and small shrooms.
IGN gave this game a 9.5 which for a recent Mario game, is very VERY good. I'm totally getting this when it comes out :D

I just hope it includes a lot of extras or I'll sleep...
But it really looks amazing! :) Just look at the sea levels! They look like Super Mario 64

I can't wait until that game comes out :)
It's a shame I'll have to wait another month to get my DS Lite in June, though... I'd really like to have gotten them both at the same time :p

Wait a minute, I thought that the Lite was supposed to come out on May 16th? Damn it, did Nintendo change another release date?!
Ah well. At least the regular DS is still there. And it's only one more extra month to wait I suppose.
By the way, doe's anyone know how much the Lite will cost?

Actually, as far as I know, the DS Lite never had a North American release date until just recently when they announced June 11th was the day. Prior to that, it was just speculated that it would launch with the new SMB.

I'm not sure exactly, but I can't imagine it being anything except what the regular one costs now. I haven't done my research on it, though... so don't quote me on that ;)

Rofl, and yet all those big name staff members on those sites like IGN and Game Spot get their stuff early...

You know ever since the N64 came out, I've been dying for a good true sidescroller. I'm crossing my fingers that it'll be as good as the classics were. ;)

Great! Now let's start complaining about the lack of a "real" Yoshi's Island sequel :p

Actually, Mischief Makers (http://http://sfkosmo.classicgaming.gamespy.com/treasure/games/yukeyuke/mischief_makers.jpg) was a brilliant, true side scroller for the N64.
And how come everyone has ignored Princess Peach for the DS? I heard it was pretty good.

Finally, a Mario DS that won't hang gameplay out to dry with the glaring inadequacies of the D-pad.

I feel the same way. This is one of the only DS games I've been looking forward to since I've heard of it, and will buy on the first day. (If available)
Too bad it doesn't come WiFi compatible. (or does it?) It would be great, plus I know I read about it having 2-P fights in-game.

Apparantly, when you kill Bowser in the bridge scene, his skin burns off. A bit more violent than most Mario games...

I just watched that. It looks pretty cool.
I also like the fact that Bowser serves more of a chalenge in this one. If he catches you running to the switch, he runs after you. I find that better than the original.

Conceptually and visually, it's very good game, but the thing that made me lose some interest was the fact that it's too easy a game in my opinion. It's appeal kind of wore off after a while. I never once lost or died in the game, and it's that kind of simplicity that I think made a lot of people turn away from the game. Nonetheless, it is entertaining and worth a try.

It looks like you really do kill Bowser... Interesting.
