I don't think so, how about you guys. I just don't think he fits in with Nintendo charicters, like Sonic or sombody else would.

Another poll? I thought you'd just done one on the SSBB characters.

Did Marth fit in with Smash Bros Melee? ;)
Whether or not a character fits in... it's all down to personal preference. But I do think adding Snake to Smash Bros Brawl could possibly make it desirable to some people who would otherwise pass on the game. That certainly can't hurt :)

I really want to play as Snake. I never really play the Metal Gear games but Snake will still be really fun to use. I agree with Gold about Marth and Roy though. No one really knew who they were first.
I just hope the characters have a new set of moves though, unlike in SSBM where Ganondorf was Captain Falcon etc.
Also it's showing the fact that the Wii will actually have more 3rd party support than the GC did. That's one of the reasons it failed compared to the Xbox and PS2.

I idn't like Marth or Roy. And they look less real than Snake.

Refresh my memory: Who is snake? I think they should get rid of the pokemon and put some more popular nintendo charicters in there like star fox or something.

Uhh......... Star Fox has been in all the games dude.
Snake is the guy from the Metal Gear Solid games. It's a stealthy-type game.
Hells yea, Snake should be on there, I've been dying to see something like this before.
I told one of my friends that's a big Sony fan about this and he said, "How much is the Revoulution going to cost again?" :D

yeah i think Sonic would have a better chance in the game than Snake anyway. there were rumors on unlocking sonic in SSBM, but of course they were fake. so im guessing these rumors will come true in SSB. Plus Sega and Nintendo are working together so, you know.

Dallin, Metal Gear Solid is T3H popular.
Pikachu should stay, because he is a Nintendo character and is also very popular. ;) Actually I'm saying this because I like to play as the little guy.
They should also make Yoshi strong like he used to be in SSB. They made him a weakling in Melee.
Back on-topic, Snake does fit with Nintendo characters. I mean, the Link from TP is also realistic and he is there, right? Why not Snake?

The SSB series was unique because Nintendo made it a match between its own characters. Personally, I feel that as soon as they start, excuse my language, whoring themselves out to third parties, the games will lose what made them special.
So no, I don't think Snake is a good idea :) .

It's certainly a shock, and has a lot of chances to go wrong...
But hell, I like it! And let's not forget, Solid Snake's roots come from the NES! So hey, let's see how this develops before we pull out the torches, eh? We've got a long way to go before the game comes out.
...Now all we need is Earthworm Jim.

Actually Metal Gear was first released to MSX, and then ported to the NES.
Metal Gear 2 was exclusive for MSX2. It never had an american release. The NES version of Metal Gear 2 was made by a crappy american company called US GOLD, and it didn't have anything to do with the "real" Metal Gear 2. Actually, Metal Gear Solid had many plot elements that were ripped off directly from Metal Gear 2. Some people consider MGS to be a spiritual remake from MG2.
That's what I got for living around MG addicts. =)

Well, that's not happening quite yet. If anything, Nintendo was the client to Hideo Kojima's whoring...
"Sakurai said the decision to include Solid Snake when Hideo Kojima himself practically "begged" to include the Metal Gear character in the last Smash Bros. game" - IGN (http://revolution.ign.com/articles/707/707504p1.html)
So if Nintendo takes any success Snake may have SSB and turns it around and accepts other endorsements in future games, then yes, Nintendo will be the one whoring themselves out :)

What I am going to post on the GameFAQs boards in a moment:
"Since everyone seems pretty pleased with Snake, then why not Kojima's other character, Django?
For those of you who don't know, the Django I'm referring to is the star of Kojima's solar-powered, vampire hunting series; Boktai.
I actually think Django would fit much better than Snake. Doesn't Snake represent all the realism that is intentionally absent from Smash Bros.?
And if anybody was impressed with Konami's Lunar Knights game at E3, just know that it IS actually a prequel to the Boktai series."
I'm sure I'll get chewed out. ;)

The most likely reason that Django wasn't considered is because Solid Snake has become a staple of Kojima's, quite probably the most recognized of his characters.
Then again, don't be suprised if you see him. It looks like this SSB is going to be a joyride of suprises!

Just because Boktai isn't too well know outside of Japan doesn't mean it doesn't have a very good shot. Look at Marth and Roy.

When I first saw Brawl's trailer, I was very surprised to see Snake. At first I was just so hyped up seeing such a major video game icon in the game, but then I realized that by adding Snake it makes Brawl lose a bit of the series' "Nintendo exclusivity". So it's got me mixed with feelings on the addition, but overall I think it's good news and good business. I know I'll play as Snake for sure though! ;)

I hear you Al. Sonic has always been a favorite of mine over Snake, but who says we cant wish for both of them in SSBB?
