Microsoft and Nintendo cannot, will not, and are not currently, working together. They were united against Sony, but that was just because of joint intrests. The only reason that Rare can develop[ games for the DS is because Microsoft doesn't HAVE a portable, and they can only make money, not lose it. No matter how much Bill Gates likes the Wii, he will not make games for it, as that will make him LOSE money. They are seperate companies, and won't join together to make a console or anything. And Microsoft did not take Rare, Nintendo sold them.

I agree. It needs to be said. Just because their opinions may be alike, doesn't mean that they're suddenly best freinds!o-O

Well put.

For years people have always had these kinds of misguided opinions as to how they think this industry should work. You still see people who are hopeful that a Banjo game will come out on the GameCube or Wii, or that Rare will somehow defect back to Nintendo -- which would not be Rare's decision to begin with. That can only happen if Microsoft has enough of Rare, and I think even though Rare isn't any better with Microsoft than they were with Nintendo, they're still a good property for them to hang on to.

I don't know if we can ever pound this through their thick skulls, but it's still a good thing to keep reminding people. Everything's not as complex as people make it out to be... this really is just black and white. Rare is with Microsoft. Microsoft could tell Rare to stop any affiliation with Nintendo whatsoever on a bloody whim if they wanted. But like Swat said, whether or not Rare does handheld work with Nintendo really makes no difference. Microsoft Game Studios just happens to recognize that it's a beneficial thing to the gamer, which I think is a noble thing. They could just say "well if this has no business implications that effect us, why should we let them?" because I'm sure the resources being put towards Nintendo development could be better used towards Xbox development.

Just take what's given to you.

I believe his rage stems from a rumour I once heard about how Jason fell victim to a con-man a couple of years ago.

Of course the "con" prefix stands for "congradulations".

And for the record. (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=congradulations)
