What is this? I either get horizontal or verticle white stripes and most blocks are invisible. I think I'm looking in a dungeon in the image. The problem where you get a black screen was replaced by this one. My computer is fairly old, xp I think, but maybe there is something I can do or download to stop this?
EDIT: forgot to mention that it also says I haven't downloaded the game so I play offline. playing at the site doesn't seem to work. I have downloaded it of coarse....

You could try re-downloading the game the easy way.

1. Click Start.
2. Click Run
3. Type in %appdata%
4. Move the .minecraft folder onto your desktop.
5. Run Minecraft
6.That will re-download the game in a newly made .minecraft folder. If the problem persists, a re-download will not fix it. If the problem is fixed, then move your saves folder from the old .minecraft into the new one.

I...what? What does that even mean? I removed old java and put in a new one. I tried putting minecraft folder on desktop, no dice. What would cause minecraft to look like it does in the picture? What could the problem be?

well, because it wont let me play online for some reason i dont think it was done properly.once the folder was out, i couldnt play on or offline. I tried redownloading minecraft again after that, no dice. i can play on the site though, and it gave me a new folder, doesn't play. Is there any thing i can download or do to make the graphics stable? messing with in-game video settings doesnt seem to work.
