next shape?

well, i was just curious what everyone else thought. should nintendo keep the cube design when they go to their next console, or abandon it and try something new. personally, i would like to see nintendo go in the direction of the ps2, i mean the cube design is trendy, but i still like the look of the ps2.

I don't care what shpae the next Nintendo console is in. (Heck, it could be in the shape of the number 5 for all I care.) I just want a new system.

I want it to have a unique design. I like the cube, but I don't think they'll keep it. Incase you haven't noticed they completely change their console every year. Oppose to playstation and their ingenius naming of the Playstation 2.

I don't like the look oft he PS2.

I'll admit though, I like the look of the X-box. My only beef with it is....ITS FREAKISHLY LARGE SIZE.

Yeah I like the black and green colour scheme, I think it's teh_cool.

And apparently Microsoft are releasing a smaller version of the box called 'Xbox Next', I hope there's some truth to that. :eek:

Xbox Next? I haven't heard of it. If it was true, I would've heard about it. Xbox Next...that name...it's familiar.

Yeah well the thing with XBoX is that it has 740 some bit graphics and gamecube only has like 512 or some very high amount but XBOX is huge. I mean you could make a system and rest your tv on it and have it be like 12,000 bit graphics. A game system shouldnt be as big as the xbox.

Yeah, the Xbox is on the large side. But it's ok, it fits nicely between my tower and my monitor, and it's perfect for perching my Cube or N64 on.

That's an obvious rip-off of Sony's smaller PSone design idea ;)

I seriously doubt there will be an XboX next or there would already be some news about it. Maybe XboX next is the name of xbox 2. As for GC Shape.. shape really doesnt matter. A triangle would be cool.... they could call it, Nintendo Pyra. Short for pyramid.

Thats a sweet name DYNA. Though I dunno how much I'd like the idea of having a system shaped like a pyramid... I still like that name a lot though. I suppose having a triangular object in my room that is run on electricity wouldn't be to bad. I guess it would be able to fit somewhere on mine, or my brothers entertainment center...:rolleyes:

They could make a G-Sphere, and have it be a...well...sphere except the bottom would be levelled off so that it could be placed down (obviously). Then the top could open like a hatch, and you could put the disk in...Or a disk slide could come out of the middle and you could put it in that way.

lol, keep the cube shape, but make it the nintendo rubiks cube, and if you ever twist it around, you have to untwist it just to play a different game. or at least get one side all the same color. and they could make money by people sending them in and them untwisting them. :D

I hate Rubix cubes. I've never been able to do one. I think they should have a Xbox sort of design (So you can see an N in it) but smaller and like half the size of the GCN

I believe the new GC will take a compact approach, much like the GBASP.(nothing to fold out I hope)

Now think about it, now that gamers are thinking about the Next-gen GC in geometrical shapes, I won't be like that in any way. At all. Period. I think the new console will be similar to that of a VCR except it would be smaller in all dimensions and have smooth, shiny, rounded edges. On the left-front side you can put in the disk and to the right of that there would be all four controller sockets. Further right would be the memory card slots. This may possibly be in a Disk shape actually. The possibilities are endless.

If anyone has seen those portable DVD players, then you'll know what I'm talking about. The new system will probably be a small flat square shape. And it will have a flip up screen! (Althought you will only need the flip screen when traveling in the car. And the system will come with a cable that allows you to use the "cigarrette lighter" in the car for your power source. If you've ever used your GC in the car, then you know what I'm talking about.Even if you used a TV in the car, you'll know what I'm talking about.) Anyhow, I'm not sure on the color yet. It'll probably be like the GC and you can pick from several colors. (Jet, Platinum, Flame, Cobalt.) And the new logo will be on it. NO PURPLE! This system will have the regular 3 inch disc and you will pop them in "toaster" style into the system. I think this would be a really cool. Anyhow, that's my vision.

hopefully it will be cool like the panasonic Q ....also i dont mind purple but fewer people would think it was aimed at kids if it didnt come ont in purple ,also it would be cheaper to just buy just one colour (for nintendo) im sure...
