EDIT: There's actually enough evidence to prove that this movie was in some development and they were getting it together so I take back what I said about it being an April Fool's joke. I think its real. So as you read just skip over all the crap I said about it potentially being fake because its probably not fake, which is cool.
So it was announced today that they were officially going to make Dumb and Dumber 2. Not only are they making a sequel, but they have the same directors, who are also the writers (who were not responsible for the prequel by the way), as well as Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey back for Harry and Lloyd.
I was a huge fan of the first one and till this day its one of my favorite movies. However, I remember in the past that Carrey said he would never want to do a sequel to that movie. Besides, he's definitely a more family-oriented actor as of late. So as of this moment, I'm thinking this is a possible late April Fool's joke with the intention of making it a more believable joke by having it the day after the 1st. Like I said, I can't see Carrey just jumping on this movie, especially the way they say he did.

There's the article and according to it Carrey was like "We've got to do this thing again.' He had just watched Dumb and Dumber and he said, 'This is the perfect sequel. Let's do it.'" That just doesn't seem believable at the moment. I'll have to dig around for it but I swear I thought he said he'd never do a sequel so for him to be like "we have to do it" all of a sudden is surprising. We'll see in time.
Also, they're going to have their hands full because its one of those things where they have a lot to live up to. There's a big cult following to the movie and it has to be something like 15 years now so time has had its impact on it. Like most of these situations, there will be those fans who will never ever be happy even if it blows the original out of the water but for the fans that see potential, like me, hopefully they pull it off....if this is a real thing.
Sound off, is this a real thing? And if so, what do you think?
EDIT: Btw, the toilet scene is probably one of the least funny parts in the entire movie. Its incredibly overrated and it sucks. It's also too widely used as the example of hilarity to define the movie, just like IGN foolishly did in the posted article. There's so many more things that are hilarious. I really have no idea why people find it remotely funny.
I had to get that out.
