I'm usually not a big fan of Valve games or most PC based games in general, but this looks unique:

Thinking...with Portals. (http://media.pc.ign.com/media/842/842671/vid_1587618.html)

It's ultimately a variation on most first person shooters, but this one requires what looks like a lot of thinking. Discuss.

I actually like this one. I'm not a PC game fan, either, but still, this looks pretty cool.

Great graphics, as well as a very creative and fun add-on...being the...portals...

Like, this takes the abilities of the Hookshot from Zelda and the Telekinesis from Psi-Ops and brings them together with so much more fun.

We watched this video a few days ago, I thought it looked quite impressive. We'll probably be getting it. I've never seen a FPS style puzzle game before. o-O

there's.a.hole.in.the.sky
through.which.things.can.fly
:p

Very impressive concept. You can even see your own body going thru a portal...
Man, I so want to try this out. That thing is the coolest weapon ever, it's possibilities are infinite. Yes, cooler than the hookshot. :p

Btw, I saw the guy holding a crate with his gun at some part of the movie, and it looked a lot like the gravity gun from Half Life 2. Since this game is being made by Valve, I believe they're using HF2's source... Is this a HF2 mod or is it a brand new game?

I believe it's a stand alone game. For some reason I was under the impression that it was a Portal Gun for HL2, but this looks like a game unto itself.

It'll be interesting to see how it does. Hopefully there will be some multiplayer gametypes other than DM or TDM. Personally the UT2K Transponder is awesome in CTF, but this would be waaaaaay cooler than that.

I'm absolutely stoked about Portal. I love Valve :)

Man, I so want to try this out.

Portal is based on a free game called "Narbacular Drop (http://www.vgpro.com/file/10873_narbacular_drop.exe.html)", which was created by some students at DigiPen who now work at Valve. It'll give you a spot-on idea of how it works :)

The music in that actual gameplay footage...sounds very Bomberman-esque...Like, Bomberman Hero style music.

I think there's a bug the first time you enter the level, because there are no boulders so you can't actually press the buttons, but If you die (fall into the lava) the boulders will be there, anyway I haven't beaten it neither (played it only a little bit) seems that you don't only need to think but also to act fast (ie: move rocks to where you want + get you there + don't get killed by the rocks that requires fast portal placing)

Maybe I'll play it tomorrow

Okay I didn't see this posted so I'll go ahead.
*Ahem* Portal is pretty much a playable tech demo. It comes bundled with Half Life 2: Episode One. It was an experiment from Valve to try this out. There are currently no games that are planning to use it but Half Life 2: Episode 2 may be a possibility.

That's all I know about it.

That's better. :D Anyway, Portal looks AWESOME, I'll probably play it after I'm finished with Episode Two (once it comes out). :P
