Well, you see, i want to get an xbox 360 for my birthday in 2 weeks, but usually i only rake in about 300 dollars in birthday money. But then i need to find a way to get the other 200. I have no idea how to get it. And also with tax money its 550 dollars. Why does microsoft only care about money, man. Not everyone is rich. I cant imagine what im going to have to save up when the ps3 comes out. UGH im so mad. I only want it for viva piniata anyway.

Microsoft? Greedy? This is flawed logic. Microsoft is like a soup kitchon compared to Sony. And besides $400 is nothing compared to most things nowadays but to be fair, I'll give you a money making guide. This is also serious.
Ways to make money
A) eBay
B) Find the richest neighborhoods near you and mow there lawns. If your lucky you can get up to $50.
C) Landscaping. This only works if your fit enough and know basic Spanish. You'll need to look around with it. It's the only before legal working age I could find...

A PS2 is outdated compared to the XBox 360, Nintendo Wii, DS, and PSP. A PSP is now considered better and much more worth it over the PS2. Microsoft doesn't suck if you look at the company as a whole.

Maddox is a terrible source to use as well for back up. Maddox dislikes any modern system. He likes oldschool if you ever pay attention to his rants. Super Nintendo is probably his style so of course he would think XBox sucks. He mostly criticizes what is on his page anyways. No, Nintendo IS trying to make money, because a business has to make money in order to not go the way of 3DO and SNK. They don't make it all that obvious, but fact of the matter is, profits need to outstrip operating costs, and that money has to come from somewhere.

Rare hasn't been doing as well on the Xbox as they were "back with Nintendo," but I don't recall Mickey's Speedway USA, Conker's Bad Fur Day, and Starfox Adventures being sales chart-toppers. You make some critically-acclaimed games, you make some not-so-critically-acclaimed games - that's just how it works. Perfect Dark Zero wasn't exactly a smash hit, but it continues to be a hot seller and one of the most popular games on Live.

Microsoft isn't that bad they want to make products and sell them like any other business. I'm not a fan boy , but i don't have a grudge against Microsoft either. I think they make most of the money in their gaming interests through the games not the consoles. Each developer buys a license to develop for the Xbox consoles. Quoted for greatness. As sarcastic as that post is, it does point out through that sarcasm that Nintendo DOES need money as much as Microsoft does, otherwise their company would go under. Fans and games may be more important to Nintendo than they are to Microsoft, but the money is still more important than the fans and games. As much as the guys working at Nintendo may love their jobs, jobs which may be their lifes' dreams, the core thing they want from those jobs is money.

New@Bthacking, Microsoft isn't "greedy." They just need money to pay their hardworking employees like any other company. As stated by Gold, Bill Gates isn't greedy; he doesn't want his money and donates millions of it to charities.

I'm telling you if they made a PSP with only gaming powers instead of the media brick they keep stuffing at us then slash the price to atleast 150 then they'd sell a lot more of the things. So long story short I have a PSP with three grand games (just got Tekken almost makes PSP worth it - not quite give me three more just like it then we'll talk) and three mediocre games and I'm out a whole bunch of money that could've given me a 360 and at least three games...

Because they...aren't? I - and most people I know - would rather play the "same, boring unoriginal titles" than games that try to innovate for the sake of innovation. You make it sound like everything that was on the PS2 and Xbox is going to have a PS3 and 360 counterpart, but I don't recall seeing anything like Perfect Dark Zero and Full Auto on the Xbox or PS2.

We'll be seeing a lot of that on the Wii. Especially from EA -- their list doesn't inspire me with much confidence. Neither does Ubisoft's recent list... with the exception of Red Steel, and possibly Far Cry.

That's probably why EA pushed to have E3 downsized, so that their games don't look like sh!t in comparison to the truly new and innovative games on a platform where everybody is going to be looking for that kind of thing.

While I do think that some of the innovation is going to be gimmicky, I'll be interested to see how the Wii controller is going to work with certain games, especially Mortal Kombat: Armageddon (linky (http://www.mortalkombatonline.com/content/News/read.cds?article=792) and linky (http://www.mortalkombatonline.com/content/News/read.cds?article=793)) and Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam. You see, when I first got my PS2, it was because I had become a PlayStation fan during the last round of consoles because I was able to buy more games for it than the N64, and most of them were of decent quality. I'm sorry, but as a 9/10 year old, I didn't have $60 to spend on a N64 game. I had an N64 first, but I was hardly getting anything out of it due to the prices of the games.

So I got my PS2 because it did appeal to me more. It had a TON of game series that I enjoyed (Final Fantasy and such), plus a lot of new ones that I really wanted to try (Jak and Daxter and such). Plus with the PS2 I was offered a DVD player, which I needed because I didn't have a DVD player yet.

Only thing is, the DVD player in the PS2 is mostly sh!t. It depends on what model number you get, and I got a bad one, so my DVDs didn't even work. Like 2 did, and they were the sucky ones at that :p. It shouldn't matter what the model number is, you should get the same quality in every one, not worry about wheteher or not you're gonna get screwed over.

I can imagine it now, people buying the PS3:

"Oh sweet it lets me play MP3's! *plugs in playlist to the PS3* Oh sh!t, it made my playlist all choppy!"

I still wanted a GameCube, but I didn't want it as bad as I wanted the PS2. That, and it didn't give me a DVD player. The GameCube just seemed so...lacking in it's own capabilities. Now I know it is more than capable.

All this being said, I still like my PS2, and I still like my GCN. The multi-media is a nice addition, and they shouldn't stop including it because it's simply that: an add-on. An extra, a bonus. The real prize is in the games. And as long as the companies don't start to lose quality due to focusing on their add-ons(I'm looking at you, PS3), I say they should keep on using them. As for me, I won't be using them because I have no need for them, but some may need to use them. And that's why they are there :).

The problem with GoW is that it can mean 3 things. God of War and Gears of War. Also God oh Why but that is a plea. So yeah. Anyway I've always wanted to play it. The point is. All game companys are out for money. The actual team is the ones who want a good game. Apperantly EA doesn't work that way. I'm looking at you NFL 06!
