[Spoilers Warning - Bonus Challenges]

Let me just say Rare has once again proven themselves to be the masters of aggravation.

So I finished the game and collected all 100 books. I then proceeded to get the platinum medal in each of the 20 challenges. So what happens? The Baron appears and says congrats on getting the gold medal, yes gold, in every challenge, and he has a special extra challenge, a 21st challenge called Play It Again, Son!

For this challenge, you have to do the entire game over, not as Cooper, but as his girlfriend. Here's the catch: you only start with 10 hearts in every room and there are no special soups; no one-hit wonder, no invisibilty, no mini-Coopers, nothing. And this time, there is a running timer in the lower left with a 21 stopwatch icon. If you complete the challenge, the Baron says he'll give you a platinum medal.

Great, I thought. What awesome picture will you get in the Gallery for this platinum medal. Maybe it'll be Banjo Secrets related. Well, nearly 9 hours game clock later, I finally get past Chapter 4, but fail to unlock all 10 prisoners in Chapter 5 before that clock runs out. Yes, 2 clocks on the screen.

Here's my problem, and where I need help. The Baron says congrats, here's a Bronze medal, laughs, and says no, he'll give me the platinum. But then he says something about it not being that easy and he has hidden it somewhere and I have to find it. What??? Unfortunately I didn't get any screenshots or write down exactly what he said.

Here's the strange thing. The challenge screen shows me having the platinum medal. But alas, no new image in the Gallery. I can go back into the 21st challenge and it starts me in Chapter 5, the Race. I finished it this time, and the Baron says his bronze joke again, says he'll give me the platinum, but this time, there is no mention of something being hidden. I can still go back into the challenge and start the Race agan. Now I notice that the heart icon in the upper right is golden, and not red anymore. But I don't know if it changed after I finished the challenge the 1st time or after I finished the Race. I didn't notice it.

Has anyone seen the message about the Baron hiding the platinum? I could kick myself for not writing down exactly what he said. And does the heart icon change when you finish the challenge, or only when you finish the Race.

This'll teach me for playing games to the wee hours of the morning...

hold on wasn't play it again son a code for Banjo-Tooie?

Yeah, I thought the same thing when I first saw it. It's a cheat for unlocking all the cinemas in Tooie.

There is the Cinema room that is part of The Race. Hmmm...

Okay you don't unlock a page foe beating Challange 21. Go to features then story book and you have a original promo movie (beta version) and a deleted scene. The promo movie is very short but its awsome.

Deleted scene? Y'know I flipped through the Primas guide, and noticed a picture of weird looking zombies. Any connection w/ that deleted scene? Also the ending has Amber and Cooper head for a place called Ghoulsville. I think that means we haven't seen the last of the Ghoulies franchise obviously. But Conker also gave us the same feeling with his ending. Hmmm....

Not that this really matters, but the promo movie says it was shown privately at E3 2001. Doesn't that mean it was developed on the GameCube. Or was Microsoft acquisition already so far along that the XBox dev had begun?

As for a sequel, I would think it's likely. I guess it will depend on sales.

Sales shmales. Conker sold horribly and yet Rare still gets dogged with Conker 2 demands. It really depends if enough people are fond of the franchise and want more. (Though there are a bunch of counter-arguments that go against that comment.)

Rare tends to set themselves up for sequels alot. Think about all of the games...

I can think of 4 ;). But still, they could make a sequel...

And as for that huge challenge of yours, slaphappy, you are WAY TO FAR AHEAD OF ME! I beat the game with a 90/100, with like 40 books. I could never dream of getting all 100, then beating all of the challenges, then beating the game as Amber. I'm sorry I'm so useless.
