If you've ever known of the game "Habbo Hotel" it is a virtual hotel.
I got ripped off because I had to "buy" credits for furnitue and stuff.
I typed in the codes they worked, then I tried it with the other accounts, it didn't work.
I was so mad because I thought I'd be rich and everything.
All I got was 5 months of Habbo Club.
I had to pay $20 for these stupid things, that hardly even work.
Anyone care to discuss?

I don't even play that.
But now that I know this, I won't join.

I dont use habbo very often, and i NEVER buy credits. I dont think i should be paying hard earned money for a handfull of pixels.

Well, see, he said "handful of pixels". If it were a truckload, then I guess it'd be justified o-O

I've never even heard of about 99% of the games people talk about in the forum any more.

Based on this topic, I'm not sure you're really missing much. A virtual hotel that eats up actual IRL cash doesn't sound appealing. :-/

Habbo Hotel has been notorious for having racist mods. Which is why the place has been raided more than once. The latest occured on September 11. Good times, good times.

Oh yeah, and why waste 20 bucks for a sprite of a couch when you could get yourself a nice meal and feel great?

My friend told me it was the greatest game ever. He's rich and invested over $500 of his parents money on somthing as usless as that. I tried it for 5 minutes. In that time I learned how stupid that thing really was...

I think that this "Habbo Hotel" is just an awful, awful way of stealing money 14-years across the country. Why should you put hard earned money to a video game, buying things that add-up to nothing in the long run. A pity really. I know it's probably kind of cool, but what if Habbo had a server go down, or something? Everyone would be screwed, and never see their money again. Just doesn't seem like a very good thing to do...:-/

This can be applied to every single game that charges money in existance. I'll drop a $20-50 one shot for a decent video game from time to time, be it console or otherwise, but I see no point for games that a)Eat up your life or b)Eat up your wallet.

It's why WoW and every other MMOG makes my eyes bleed. (I'll throw down some Kingdom of Loathing, but that's both free and requires like...an hour per day, aka BB gets to do stuff while rotting away in a Human Resources lecture class.)

Strange...I guess I just didn't realize there were games like this one that were already out there! Pretty sad, really...

I like second life. If you know how to create objects do you can sell them for $L and buy what you please. Or you can work for someone. Its also 3d.

I started playing Habbo Hotel a few days ago by happenstance. It was interesting at first, but I think I've pretty much given up on it. If the whole point of the game is to make new friends, then why in the world can't we share our e-mail addresses or IM screen names? That's a little odd. Another thing I didn't understand very well either, was the whole games portion of Habbo Hotel. It was hard tracking down any games, for one. And whether they were provided by the hotel, or were guest-made, I found most of them... well boring.

Simply put, I thought the whole thing was just a glorified chatroom. Why anyone would pay real cash for extras that aren't very worthwhile in my opinon is beyond me.

i'm on that, i like building objects, i built a HUGE mansion and several cars and weapons. i havent sold any yet though, my friend is paying for the server space and he gets 70% of the money from the items i make.
i am currently scripting a hotel (coincidence?), should be easy, a simple 'take money - change sun to night then dawn' script

Habbo Sucks!
yes its true, I was scammed by a member of the 'x-crew' (?) helped by their extremely poor security, and the moderators banned me because they said i was scamming people? i hated it ever since...
however, my mum installed a child filter on our pc and it would get confused when i accessed habbo and glitch it in strange ways. the game always glitched when it showed my credits, showing i always had the maximum amount, and these were actually valid afterwards so i could buy anything without losing money.
in the end i got so annoyed with habbo hotel for various reasons, that i set up a website where i offered people who would annoy moderators, credits from my infinitly huge supply. i think the website was www.freewebs.com/hardsards, i think it might still be up, its been a long time.

i cant give infinite credits now though, i hacked the filter off, very easy, the companies obviously dont spend long making them.

long story short: hate habbo!

I actually don't mind playing habbo, when your bored, and have nothing else to do.
However, I do hate the racisim on habbo is pretty strong.
There's this group on my habbo.ca, that scams people, and bans people trying to get their furniture back.
It's called H.S.S (Habbo Secret Service) it's a job that pays in stolen furniture, then they go into people's rooms, and screw up the furiture in there, take some stuff, leave threating messages on the stickies, and leave.
Aside from that, I like habbo hotel.

Ah, yes. Those poor, brave afromen risking their lives to close the AIDSpool. God bless them all.

Do you remember what the filter was called?
Me and my friend are collecting habbo items right now.
