Nice! I was trying to land an interview for you awhile ago but I was too lazy to send an email. I'm also too lazy to send in a press application for Nintendo. :p
Yay for Rare-Elite Staffer squad! :D
EDIT: Oh you forgot to ask him about Stop 'n' Swap. Every interview with a Rare employee is required to be asked that. It's the law. :p

Great interview! it looks really fun...sort of like the sims...i think that the game will be a lot of fun, but it wont be the best on the market...we'll just have to wait and see.
I can't wait until more info on this rolls out. Hylian, great job!

Actually, we did. But, because it was off the record, we're not allowed to say what his answer was.

Wh.Wh.Wh....Okay now you're just screwing with us...You know now I wish I hadn't asked. Because then no one probably would and it would be unknown to everyone. Anyway this must just be some sick maniacle joke everybody is on exept me. Good one guys! Heh...Heh...

I'm dead serious. I'm not joking. Have I ever lied or proved myself uncredible? As far as I know, I never have. So trust me... We asked, he supplied an answer, and that's all I can say. Now... back to the interview...
Which part did question/answer did you find to be the most interesting?

Okay. I'm past the dead shock from it but I thought I was trustworthy :(.
Ah well. I know getting answers from you will be like getting bees to sing in a chorus. But I liked the one how Viva Pinata got it's concept. It explains a whole lot. That would also explain why you never reposted that email...Well. I might as well try. Did he mention anything about Stop 'n' Stall's video?

I personally most enjoyed the answer about the testing. I never knew that such things like that could incidentally happen! I wonder what else was found...
As for the Rare cameos, so far we know Banjo and Kazooie makes an appearance as a statue and that Banjo's backpack is one of the game's many items. Can't wait to see who/what else will be making cameos!

The Baron's plane from 'Grabbed by the Ghoulies' for instance :)

ON TOPIC: great 'kiddie' question. that's kind of nintendo's phlisophy too!

You know, I am a bit suspiscious as to how you got this interview, for a minor Rareware site compared to others like Rare Extreme, but I understand that if it were real and you did post his answer, he could demand that you take down the interview.
pinkbull

Well you see, from what I can gather, his site was hosted on rareware's Kameo page. Gregg might of contacted them personally. They might have asked for an interview and they got it. Gregg is a nice guy and he didn't see any problem in it so he said yesh. Now if only Ice and Manders got a tour of Rare. They definatly deserve it...
Mystery Man
23rd September 2006, 02:45 AM
You're kidding right? Rareware probably dislikes them (Ice and Sub, i don't know why they'd dislike mandy ;) ) more than others, maybe even a begrudging respect, but they won't get a tour for ripping apart their games and finding features we were never meant to see.

Oh come now MM. They found Bottles Revenge. They should at least buy them a milk shake. Or some pocket change...

Does Rare even know who Ice Mario and Subdrag is? I bet they heard we hacked into Bk and Bt and found some stuff but the don't actually watch the videos we make. Right?
Mystery Man

Yes, they referenced the RWP specifically in scribes once, as BanjoPL likes to quote inanely, and the codes were published in a few magazines as discovered by Ice and Sub.

Why is there always someone who doesn't believe me? I have better things to do then sit around and make up interviews. I assure the interview is legit. Unless you get an interview understand what "off the record" means, then I would appreciate it if you wouldn't criticize me nor my website. Minor? It's not so minor as you might think. We are, in fact, on the official Kameo website and WILL be on the Viva Pinata website as well.
So understand. I've no reason to lie to any of you and certainly have no intentions of doing so. Again, as said earlier, I have never proven myself to be uncredible to my knowledge and have no intentions of ever doing so.

It's not because of you, that's just the way life goes, really.
Your interview seemed real enough to me at least.
Does Rare even know who Ice Mario and Subdrag is?
Well, Gregg Mayles does.
Also: If this thread becomes a flamewar about which fansite is more important I WILL LAUGH OUT LOUD!

Trust me. This guy right here. He is trustworthy. He owns and pays for a site. He wouldn't make up stuff because that would risk the loss of visitors. And remember that Gregg is a NICE guy. Not the devils advocate*
*(I have to idea what that is supposed to really mean. But I'm sure it's bad.)

Devil's advocate litterally means "Devil's supporter" but it is a phrase used to mean that you are looking at something from an opposing side's point of view. For example, if you are having a debate, and your team makes a point, and you reply back "Yeah, but if you say that, then their team can counter with ______."
In that example, you would be playing "devil's advocate."
Hopefully that maes sense...

As an aspiring journalist myself, I've always learned that you must respect the number one rule of journalism ethics. Always respect your sources. If Gregg said that it was off the record, then Hylian1 must keep that promise. If he did not, then Mr. Mayles wouldn't be so eager to do another interview.

We shouldn't attack Hylian1 about "Gregg's Stop N Swop stuff"
He must keep promise that he give to Gregg.
Maybe true about Stop N Swop will reveal after Viva Pinata release?

Didn't I say basically the same thing? Look, I don't dislike your site or anything, SNS station is a good compilation, if you're a bit willing to jump to conclusions. I just generally don't trust small sites that claim to have exclusive interviews, but I didn't realize you had been given official status. Sorry to cause offence.

It's okay man. Don't worry about it.
Hmmm... I'm pretty sure we'll see some cameos from GBTG as well. It would be cool to outfit out Pinatas in, say, Baron Von Ghoul's hat.
