Now, please lock this if it's been done before. I did a quick search, and didn't come up with anything. And please, don't turn this into a flame war or anything of the sort.
Anyways, I've been pondering this for a long time now: should I buy a Wii or 360? The thing is, I've saved up for a Wii already (I have $500 Canadian, so hopefully I can at least get a game or two, or some extra controllers), and I'm really close to gettinga 360. However, I won't be able to save up for both by Christmas. So I need your opinions, people of the RWP forums.
I find the Wii to be extremely unique. The controller is definitely a very high selling point. I find the Wii to have some classic franchises (Mario, of course, for example), and I would highly enjoy playing these games with this amazingly innovative controller. Plus, I can buy some old-school Gamecube games and play those. AND (!), if I so choose to, I can download really old-school Nintendo and Sega games.
But then there's the Xbox 360. I already have an Xbox, and am a huuuuuge fan of the Halo series. So if I wanna complete the trilogy, I NEED a 360. And of course there's those other Halo games that were jus announced. Then the new Banjo game (and I'm obviously a huge fan of those games too since I'm a member here). I've played all the Banjo games, and have owned all at one point (yes, even the two GBA ones. And I enjoyed both very much). So if I want to continue the franchise, I need a 360.
So in the end, what should I choose? The new, fresh, innovative console that gives me all the Nintendo fun I could ever ask for? Or shall I go with the more "hardcore" console to be able to complete my two favourite franchises? And please, if you do answer, I'd appreciate the reasons for your thinking. Because maybe you've taken certain things into account that I didn't.
This could also be a general topic for why people may choose 360 over Wii, or vice-versa. But of course, explain your thinking. And excuse the wall o' text post. At least it's separated to a certain degree.
