Any SotC fans? That game is so beautiful and I just beat it yesterday. Lets discuss the work of art. This game actually influenced Miyamoto to add some other features to Twilight Princess. First good Playstation 2 game I played.

Isn't it? There is also alot of secrets in this game just like our favorite Rare games. Ex: Secret Garden, White Agro, the rumor of more colossus(16 is a weird number).

What a coincidence. I've been saving up a bit of money recently, so yesterday I went to Gamestop to pick up a new game. I saw Shadow of the Colossus there for around 20 dollars, and since I've heard how amazing and beautiful it was supposed to be, I bought it. However, I haven't had the chance to play it yet. I can't wait to, though. It looks so great. I love games that touch me on a deeper level, and I've heard this game does just that.

I've only seen it being played, however seeing the PS2 splutter and wheeze running it, almost burning itself out in the process is quite the sight to behold. Really is mesmerising what some talented studios can get still retrieve from that ancient hardware.

Still plan on getting the collectors edition of this sometime (mainly due to the positive reviews and my friend who would wed the game if possible), slightly apprehensive because I didn't really like Ico too much however (just seemed to be bludgeoning an infinite volume of shadow creatures with a stick...iteratively and for an infinte length of time though admittedly I haven't spent that long with it)

Hey guys, I found some neat Colossus stuff on the net some time ago, it's kinda old already, but you'll probably like to see this:

The scrapped Colossi gallery (i.e. OMFGBETAROFL!!!)

Special WOWzers Points go to that spider thing with enormous legs and that cool (but clichéd) red dragon. Notice how most of them have got wings. It's also interesting to note how they all have finished in-game models, and seem to be fully animated.

Very cool teaser. Funny how the colossi doesn't fight back. Note that SotC was never intended to be a direct sequel to Ico. Read the movie description for more info.

Yep, the game started out as a PSX game. It spent so long in development, and the supervisors at Sony were so impressed by it that the game was later redesigned for Playstation 2.

Btw, Hakey, you shouldn't worry because SotC is a completely different kind of game than Ico. It's more like an adventure with only boss fights. There are some puzzle elements too, since every boss has a unique way to be defeated and part of the fun is figuring out how on your own.

The problem is that once you beat the game, there's not much else to do. There's a time attack and a hard mode which unlock some items, but they aren't really worth the effort in my opinion. And whoever at the development team thought a parachute would be a neat idea in this game should be shot. Not only it looks ridiculous but it also wastes a lot of your time.

Honestly I suggest you rent it, because unless you completely fall in love with it, (and believe me, I saw LOTS of grown man doing this XD) probably you won't bother playing again in for some time after you beat it.
You probably already know this, but this is that one kind of game that relies heavily on atmosphere and "feeling" of a certain moment. I couldn't get that same feeling once I beat the game, so I guess it depends from person to person.
Oh, and that secret garden is pointless. You can't be killed as a Colossi at the end of the game. Don't even bother trying.
